.NET Framework and WGAN/WGAV..

Post by mywinzip » Sat Nov 21, 2009 4:08 pm

Hi all..

Which .NET Framework (v2.0 and above include/stable/lite) would y'all recommend that below 50 MB in size? Sorry for this noob question, got hard time to comparing n testing..

One more thing about WGAN n WGAV:

1. Whats the different between this two?

2. Is it this two addons cause "Activate Windows - starfish logo" at taskbar appear after slipstreamed it?

3. Or SP3 Update Pack v1.0.23 that cause the "Activate Windows - starfish logo"?

4. What cause "Activate Windows - starfish logo"?

5. Windows File Protection pop-up annoying me..how to disable it?

Using nlite lastest version to slipstream:

1st slipstream:
1. xable_SP3 Update Pack v1.0.23
2. xable_MicrosoftUpdateEngine-v1.6_addon
3. xable_OUE-OGA-v1.8_addon
4. xable_WGAN-v1.6_addon

Then close nlite..

2nd slipstream:
1. OnePiece_IE8_WinXPSP3_v1.6.0_AddOn_ENU
2. onepiece_repair_ie8_cosmetic_problems_addon
3. OnePiece_Windows_Media_Player_11_True_AddOn_v1.9.0_ENU
4. OnePiece_Microsoft_Silverlight_v3.0.40818.0_AddOn_ENU

Close nlite again..

3rd slipstream:
1. DotNetFx_All_In_1_Addon_v2.4
2. OnePiece_Windows_Defender_RunOnceEX_AddOn

Finish..

Am i doing the rite method? Hope somebody will help, especially about that "Activate Windows - starfish logo"..

TQ n pls comment..

:O

Thats a mess!

You should only run nLite once on a source.

Also use only Onepieces update pack to avoid confusions.

With onepieces pack you can dump the following:

xable_SP3 Update Pack v1.0.23
xable_MicrosoftUpdateEngine-v1.6_addon
xable_WGAN-v1.6_addon
OnePiece_IE8_WinXPSP3_v1.6.0_AddOn_ENU
onepiece_repair_ie8_cosmetic_problems_addon
OnePiece_Windows_Media_Player_11_True_AddOn_v1.9.0_ENU
OnePiece_Microsoft_Silverlight_v3.0.40818.0_AddOn_ENU

The starfish logo is comming from wgan NOT wga... They are the same thing just wgan has the extra Certification program in it.

Don't like everything in onepieces pack? Read the first post CAREFULLY it is VERY easy to disable\remove most of the core components.

.net? http://www.ryanvm.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=7696 <-- less than 40 megs.

WGAN will cause the starfish if it has difficulty determining if a Windows installation is genuine. It is not always accurate.

WGAV is only used by Windows Update, Microsoft Update and the Microsoft Download Center to restrict certain updates and downloads to those with genuine installations of Windows.

As stated by Kelsenellenelvian, you should only use nLite once on any given source. nLiting the same source multiple times has been known to cause problems. "Load 'Last Session' on startup" can be used to make the same changes on a new source as those to a previous source, and is very useful for testing.

onepieces only has .net 1.1

The popup SHOULD stop once you get all of the danged confusion of addons fixed.

IF it doesn't then disadle sfc in nlite options section...

I mean a fresh install with proper addons and not so much confusion then you should be fine.

All of this:

xable_SP3 Update Pack v1.0.23
xable_MicrosoftUpdateEngine-v1.6_addon
xable_WGAN-v1.6_addon
OnePiece_IE8_WinXPSP3_v1.6.0_AddOn_ENU
onepiece_repair_ie8_cosmetic_problems_addon
OnePiece_Windows_Media_Player_11_True_AddOn_v1.9.0_ENU
OnePiece_Microsoft_Silverlight_v3.0.40818.0_AddOn_ENU

Needs to be simplified.

While there are ways to stop that popup now you will be MUCH better off with a fresh install.

Indeed. And since mywinzip adds so many OnePiece addons, mywinzip might be better of with the AIO SP3 update pack by OnePiece, instead of the minimalist SP3 update pack by xable.
