7zip 9.21 beta with Windows 7 Taskbar Progress Bar

Post by user_hidden » Tue Apr 12, 2011 7:27 am

one feature missing from 7zip File Manager is the Windows 7 Progress Bar.
there is a user in the 7zip forums that has posted a build with such a feature. it is available in 32 and 64 bit versions.
modified source code is also available.

7-zip updated to 9.21 beta with DPI awareness

Great. I'll build one myself with msvcrt.dll dependency.

Igor Pavlov, 7zip author will officially add the Win7 progress bar in next release so 3rd party will not be required.

7-Zip for 32-bit Windows:

or

That's really interesting, Igor Pavlov did use win7sdk with VC6...

Anyhow, I'll build one with VC7.... VC6 is too old and performs too weak.

considering how 'critical' archivers are to most peoples work, it might be a good idea to wait a day or two to let Igor have a chance to load the new source code and installers to his Sourceforge site.

my own build of 7-zip.

---edit----
Only 32-bit needs re-compilation, the offcial 64-bit version is built by VC2005(VC8). Although VC8 is the earliest version of M$ 64-bit compilation tool, it's not lame.
