I don't think Kels' Addon Runtimes Pack is being updated any longer. He has a switchless installer for that now that works on XP and Win7. He mentioned that the addon was no longer relevant when I asked about it.

These still work on Win7 and are needed for the same legacy programs that required the VB runtimes on XP, so for WINNT True Integrator users who need a true addon instead of a switchless these addons fill the need. The INF file is configured for dual x86/x64 systems in which on x64 the files go to the SysWOW64 folder instead of system32. It also is configured to only install the 16-bit runtimes on x86 and omit them on x64 where 16-bit binaries no longer run. MS did put out a critical security bulletin on 4/5/2012 for mscomctl.ocx, so the new version is included here. All the other files are the latest available versions from MS and are fully up-to-date.

For the C runtimes, Yumeyao's addons can't be directly adapted for Win7. The Win7 install DVD lacks the ASMS folders XP had for distributing the VC 2005, 2008, and 2010 runtimes to their correct places. That function has been replaced by a zillion different winsxs folders, which makes a VC '05/'08/'10 true addon impractical. And VC switchlesses fail at SVCPACK stage because Win7 has not created the user accounts at the time the switchless executes. So this addon merely installs the old VC++ 7.0/7.1 runtimes that go directly to system32 (x86) or SysWOW64 (x64), plus the old C runtime msvcrt10.dll (32-bit, so works on both x86/x64) to satisfy any legacy needs.

Certainly there are far fewer programs than there used to be still requiring these runtimes, meaning only a few users will need this. But they're still out there, and that's the niche these addons serve. As for Kels' other runtimes, definitely use his switchless if you need those as this only includes the VB Common Controls from his pack...not the non-MS stuff like AutoIt, Cgywin, etc. There's also several good VC '05/'08/'10 x86 & x64 switchlesses to run post-install for filling that need.

I really dunno if I am going to continue any of my legacy addons. Its a internal debate I am having right now...
