Post by a06 » Wed Aug 31, 2005 5:37 pm

I heard rumors of adobe reader "speedup"s.

Do these really decrease loading time?

if so, what do i need to do to decrease loading time?

Speedup programs just disables (deletes) a lot of useless plug-ins from Adobe Reader directory. Same effect is by using Adobe Reader Lite - the version made from files left after use of these speedup programs

the so called "speed-up" tools have only effect for Acrobat Reader v6.x, not for Reader vers. 7.x, because the 7.x version put a entry in auto-start group, which pre-loaded the most important filters at system start. So the starting time for Reader v7.0x is much shorter than in the past(v6.0x). In my P4 3.2GHz the 1GB RAM ther is practically no delay at all!!!

... and slow down PC booting and wastes RAM regardless if you are using Adobe Reader or not. This STUPID preloader is REMOVED from 7.0.3 Lite version.
