Need Help AVG Security Toolbar

Apparently, AVG has released a new version of their damn toolbar. If any of you guys know an uninstall command line, script or anything else in your bag of tricks that I can use to get rid of this thing in an installer package then please give me a shout. It will be much appreciated. Nothing on Google that I can find.... 8)

Sorry. Should have been more specific. The AVG bar is now packaged with dozens of unrelated apps just like the ASK Toolbar was at one time. I've found a way to conquer ASK, Google, Yahoo and Conduit Toolbars but the AVG Bar eludes me...... 8)

Hey there. When you created the mfaconf.txt for your installer what additional lines (besides the one above) did you add to the .txt file to disable AVG Secure Search from also installing. Can you post your complete mfaconf.txt here for additional comment. Thanks...... 8)

Everything is explained in

http://aa-download.avg.com/filedir/doc/ ... 012_07.pdf

section How to - List of AVG setup parameters.

My way:

AVG FREE Version

I do it like this:
Extracting the installation file 7zip
replaces mtaconf.txt
and create ready-installer - 7zip switchless installer
done

INTERNET SECURITY version:
Extracting the installation file 7zip
replaces mtaconf.txt
and create ready-installer - 7zip switchless installer
done

INTERNET SECURITY BUSINESS version:

I install program in Virtual Box with AVG Settings Manager, No Toolbar
After installation, I set your preferences BY:
Firewall, no sound, etc.

Then, from the Start menu choose:
Start / Programs / AVG / AVG Settings Manager
Clone Options

The rest of the PDF as described above.

--------------------------------------------------------------
Example mtaconf.txt to FREE version:
AppMode=setup
UILevel=Minimal
ProductType=Free
LicenseKey=4UNEF-PB63F-X9ZAS-AO3TB-HI9JO-3LP2C
ChangeBrowserSearchProvider=0
InstallToolbar=0
SelectedLanguage=1045
InstallSidebar=0
ParticipateProductImprovement=0
DontRestart
DisableScan
RemoveFeatures=fea_TuneUp,fea_TuneUp__QTune,fea_Toolbar
KillProcessesIfNeeded
FEG

--------------------------------------------------------------

I do not know what it is FEG?

RemoveFeatures disable Toolbar, Tune UP :)

From HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall

"%ProgramFiles(x86)%\AVG Secure Search\UNINSTALL.exe" /UNINSTALL

though for completeness one should also add

"%ProgramFiles%\AVG Secure Search\UNINSTALL.exe" /UNINSTALL

to support 32-bit systems.

This is what I currently use for AVG :

avg.exe /UILevel=silent /SelectedLanguage=1033 /DontRestart /DisableScan /KillProcessesIfNeeded /InstallToolBar=0 /ChangeBrowserSearchProvider=0 /InstallSidebar=0 /ParticipateProductImprovement=0
tskill avgtray /a
tskill avgui /a

The AVG secure search + toolbar are a whole different animal.
As for your other question IMHO: FEG=EXIT...... 8)

Very helpful. I'm going to try to implement this in my script. Thanks..... 8)
