Embedded script opened in new window???

Post by zzzz » Wed May 03, 2006 3:17 am

I have a weird problem. All of the scripts of the applications are open in a new window like this:

instead of just loading from the internet (it's like a banner, ad or sth).

I have checked the security settings in Internet Options but nothing was changed from the last time it was normal (necessary script actions are enabled).

Also, something is blocking the scripts from my IM (yahoo, msn) and makes them freeze upon logging in.

Anyone knows what causes this? do you have any solution?

Thanks in advance.

I tried to do that and get this:

I also tried to register some other dll like urlmon, oleaut, etc. as suggested by some sites. All was ok, only mshtml can't be registered.

I think this has sth to do with Visual Studio 6. After I installed vs, it often inteferes other applications with its debugger. I just removed it but the problem still persists.

try replacing mshtml.dll with one from your CD.

If that doesn't work then replace it with one from a clean CD

What hotfixes did you integrate into your CD? Sounds like the symptoms of KB912945. It should be noted that the most recent IE cumulative security update fixed that problem.

Replacing the mshtml.dll file doesn't help.

KB912945 if I'm correct was in an old update pack. This isn't caused by a new slipstreamed cd. I installed windows a few months ago using an old update pack, and I always get all the newest hot fixes through MU.

As I said above, this happens after I install Visual Studio and its debugger interferes with most of the script action of other applications. After I remove it, the problem still persists.

I just tried upgrading to IE7 beta 2 and it's still messed up.
