Can you please post how to instruct 7.0.2 Adobe Update ?

Hi,
An update to Adobe Reader has been released (again....), it upgrades the program to version 7.0.2....

--> When you manage to integrate it into your silent switchless installer, can you post instructions on how to integrate it ...

(coz downloading 10 MB on dial-up is traumatizing..... :lol: )

Well, the basic gist is you have to figure out what files are updated and what registry entries are changed and edit the AIP and MSI file accordingly. I usually just use InCtrl5 to monitor all changes made by the setup program.

I'll update my installer when I get around to it :P

Hi
Thanks for replying...

-> I've downloaded the update but having not previously installed Adobe Reader 7.0.1 using the original (20.3 MB) installer and used yours (10 MB - much better), the update refuses to install:
Setup cannot find a required product. Setup will now terminate.
My guess is that it is looking for an Unique Application ID in the uninstall key ?

-> I have WinInstall LE so I can modify the MSI file..
How do I remove this check to install the update and monitor using InCtrl5 (which I also have)...?

-> I don't know very much about MSI's and I once tried doing a similar change in the Diskeeper 9.0.524 Update MSI to install the full version, but it got corrupted.... :cry:

----------

EDIT: I extracted the MSI and created an administrative install point ....
---> You're right:

--> The installer contains two proprietary format :evil: archives:
-- ACRO700_702.RTP
-- RDR700_702.RTP

--> That get installed to %Program Files%\Adobe\Acrobat 7.0\Update

----> Now, I think all we need is RDR700_702.RTP ...

You're right, the best way is to remove the check and use InCtrl5 to find out what is changed...
