UA error

Post by Mavericks choice » Sun Jul 27, 2008 6:22 am

Hey guys

Having this error popup following T39 very intermittantly.

SXS.DLL; syntax error in manifest or policy file "I386\asms\1\default\default.man" on line 0.
Invalid character found in text content.

This is so far happening on a VM install using an oem xpsp2 disc with update pack 2.2.2.

Have not ventured into a live install yet, can anyone point me to what might be broken?

Edit: Small update only receive the above error if I increase from my xp source & include WPI? eg Source is 1.0 gig with OS & drivers with apps in WPI is a total of 4.1 gig.
Sure the size limitation was dropped in VPC2007. I ran a ua copy of Vista sp1 in same virtual machine no problems?

Cheers
MC.

One month on still not overcome this error @ T39? OS installs in VM ok if not associated with wpi & apps. see image attached...

The above only errors if I include WPI with apps=4.1gb

Your asms folder files are messed up, if you google on msfn you will find allot of these errors

Just make sure you are not editing any DLL files in asms

It could also be the compressing of them

@Rick thankyou.

I haven't really messed with the asm dir?
I'm thinking it may be the compressing of them when making the image?
However always used cd image to make them in the past? Is the size of the source the problem?
