Looking for new hosting

Well, I've been looking at other hosting plans for once my current one expires. Right now, I'm looking at a plan that would either give me 800MB storage space and 100GB/month of bandwidth for $130/year and one that's 1GB/150GB for $160/year. Release 1.1 of the update pack is going much larger for all versions compared to 1.0.5, so I'm expecting a fairly sharp increase from the current ~60GB/month I'm using. 100GB might be OK, but I'd prefer 150GB to get some extra breathing room.

ryanvm, if I may, take a look at powweb.com hosting.

$7.95 per month with 2000MB space and 5GB per day. The best thing is that you can't go over that limit, so no extra charge.

Of course though, if you go above 5GB a constantly, then you'll have to go somewhere else.

I still offer to mirror your site whenever you need it. I have plently of bandwidth to spare. I can even set you up with your own ftp account so you don't even have to bother with me.

Or another suggestion, try dreamhost.com. it currently is 120GB per month transfer, and 2400MB of space.

And get this. for only $9 dollars for the first year! no joke or any catches. You can cancel after the first year is up, and they even remind you that your year is coming up.

Just go and sign up and use this code: 777
during the billing phase.

I personally have both hosts and they are both great. Powweb is a little faster (i get 700K a sec uploads with them). Dreamhost however is not slow either, just slow for me, because I am used to 2-3MB a second connections (thanx to my University).

lol, well, trust me, if you are looking for great hosts, they are the best I have found so far to host my large sites. I generate about 7GB a day of bandwidth and I've never had a problem.

The 777 promo is only good on 1 or 2-year CDI plans.

thank you everybody! actually, I am just glad I could show you guys a great promotion before it ends.

I know how much web hosting can cost. I've been doing it for a few years. It's not cheap, especially when you offer your services for free.

anything helps because i hosts files too for others to download.
