What's the benefit of using 1.16 over 1.17 in XP? I have 1.17.4. Thanks

@Ghost: Im use Ublock origin legay https://github.com/gorhill/uBlock/relea ... -1.16.4.11 maybe you can test it and comment if better than 1.16.20. :D
I use Chrome and the last version he released was 1.16.20, which is what I have stored here. works best. I don't recall what the small changes were between them, not really significant. I will upload my version to my google drive soon, but its chrome version only

On my Google Drive, there is a new folder called "Chrome", with in it, are older Extension, which are supported in Chrome 49 (and older) which work on XP. I been using these for time now!

Which catalog file? Upload setupact.log from C:\WINDOWS (use SHIFT+F10 to open command prompt during Windows Setup)

Locate sp4inf.ca_ in the I386 of the disk and decompress it.
SHA1 hash of sp4inf.cat for XP Pro must be 50cdf333410aa7da38a31fe48e826c1faf05b2e0
If not, repeat slipstreaming process.
Windows XP Unofficial SP4 (2014, 2016, and 2019): viewtopic.php?t=10321

1)Use 7-zip to browse inside the SP4-3.1b EXE
2)Copy i386\ip\layout.inf from inside the EXE to your XP installation.
3)Re-test.

Thanks to Google for silently removing (shadowbanning/censoring) my comments to this video related to Unofficial SP4: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cWMf3_TH0zk without any notification or explanation whatsoever.

What else to expect from a company with such practices: https://www.theguardian.com/technology/ ... lCAxhSnHpE

2)Copy i386\ip\layout.inf from inside the EXE to your XP installation.
3)Re-test.

Are already present. Thanks

If layout.inf is the original, its hash is included in sp4inf.cat.
This should mean:
1) XP SP4 certificate not properly installed for some reason or
2) Optical media cannot be read properly

@PROBLEMCHYLD, if your machine is capable of installing from USB, you might try continuing to experiment using a USB key or drive, to not waste your DVDs until you can figure out what is going on.

Cheers and Regards

It's not, it's an older machine for Windows 98 and Winxp. I'll just have to use some other pack. 3.1b works fine Slipstreamed.

SSE2 supported? The update pack contains DLLs that require SSE2 instruction set.
The SP4 3.1b is compatible with all hardware configurations.

Michael MJD (the owner of the Youtube channel) has just uploaded the comment on my behalf. It is interesting that Google algorithms/employee took down a politically neutral comment containing a short bio of mine + SP4 backstory.
