can anyone do windows messenger?
can anyone do windows messenger?
guys can anyone update windows messenger to 5.1 thru cd only?
I am going to attempt this but I have to iron out some problems I found with the Ryan/Booogy's WMP10 and my WMC2 pack first
but this is the very next one on my list.
@Siginet...what is the order of things...if I make an integrated addon...will it be over written by the update pack?
I mean will it be over-written with 4.7. 3001?

Because Windows Messenger adds a slew of new stuff that wasn't in 4.7. I've looked into adding it before, but it'll require some INF hacking as well. Plus, it includes wisptis.exe, which some people for some regard as evil.

it is evil, its soooooooooooo evil u dont know how evil it is. but then again thats why i use mess.be for removal, and msgplus for enhancements of messenger.RyanVM wrote:Because Windows Messenger adds a slew of new stuff that wasn't in 4.7. Ok, Siginet & RyanVM...my test pack did not work...just a matter of copying files to confirm that step.
I looked at the version of MSMGS.EXE post integration and it was the 3001 from ryan's pack
I took a look at __integrate.cmd.
It seems that the reason it is such a task to integrate a later version of Windows Messenger is because the __integrate.cmd only asks for msmsgs.exe
Would it be possible for the next release of the pack to call the new files to replace old WM files by using a separate directory and calling all files in that dir by star-dot-star?
For instance anything in rvmtemp\extracted\mmssetup would overwrite/add files in i386\mmssetup and the command.
There also appears to a lot of places where star-dot-star would be helpful...this current method seems pretty finite.

* and *.* do the same thing (but surely you tested that before commenting, right?)
And __integrate.cmd is being phased out. We've got better ways to do it coming down the road.

I'm not quite sure I get what you mean by genre. * is a wildcard and the ".*" on the end is redundant.
