WinXP X64 SP2 Slipstream

Post by madrooster » Fri Apr 25, 2008 6:55 am

Hi all,

What's the best way currently to do an up to date slipstreamed CD for X64? I am aware there is no update pack for IE7 nor the XP updates themselves.

Thanks.

Hello.

You can use nLite from http://www.nliteos.com/ to slipstream the official x64 updates available from MS.

runningfool87 has been kind enough to recently post a list of updates for x64 with links to them here http://www.ryanvm.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6160.

Just download all the updates, run nLite and load all of them in nLite's "Hotfixes, Addons and Update Packs" section.

AFAIK (I know it worked under 32-bit XP in the past), nLite can also use the official Internet Explorer 7 installer available from Microsoft to integrate that also.

yes, nlite will integrate the native IE7 installer to x64 XP, just fine.

IE7 worked fine, so did WMP11 using boogy's WMP11 slipstreamer.

However a handful of official updates didn't work? About 6-7 or so. They just errored out and didn't get applied.

You might want to keep your inquiry about this in the first thread you mentioned this in http://www.ryanvm.net/forum/viewtopic.php?p=74274#74274.

runningfool87 had a response to you about this issue there.
