How to prepare a SP3 ISO ready for RyamVM Update Packs??

Post by DJB » Fri May 09, 2008 11:20 am

Hey there.

I just slipstreamed SP3 into my SP2 ISO, and now I have 2 .cab files (sp2.cab and sp3.cab). At this point I have two questions:

1) How can I clean up this ISO (can I remove SP2.cab or any other files safely)?

2) How can I make sure this ISO will be RyanVM friendly, so when it comes time for a new Update Pack it will be ready to go.

Thanks :)

As long as you slipstreamed it using the SP3 installer, then it is ready.

The *possibility* exists that there are a few extra files left in the install source, but I would not risk it over a "few" files that may not be needed. I am pretty sure that if the files are there (and needed), they will be used.

You can delete SP2.cat, SP2.cab, plugin.oc_, and win51p.sp2 (root of cd).

I am guessing then that SP1.cat and SP1.cab are also safe to delete?
