wininet.dll - extract from windows 98. Version 4.72.3110.0 tests ok

url.dll - extract from windows 95c (ie3) Version 4.70.0.1155 tests ok

urlmon.dll - extract from your windows 2000 installation.
first two i have think they are early'r versions need to find only the urlmon.dll

http://rapidshare.de/files/16331299/win ... 0.zip.html

When you use that guide way to many problem's crop up. I guess since IE is part of windows's you can only remove so much safely. I reverted to 1.6, that's gonna be my final version.

This is the 1.6 version that I had on my computer. Not sure if this is the true 1.6 or one that I had made. But maybe this is it.

Well,I'am back made several test with Removal_InternetExplorer_DeleteAddon and no problems at all only quick launch bar not work in Removal_InternetExplorer_DeleteAddon 1.6 and Removal_InternetExplorer_DeleteAddon 1.7.Quick launch bar work fine with version 1.4 (http://www.mytempdir.com/543477).
I read a lot of problems about quick launch bar in MSFN forums and there is some fix for quick lauch toolbar too.(vbs script, registry file..)
If you can add this fix to delete_addon this problem will probably gone.Version 1.4 work, but with less removing things like version 1.6 or 1.7.

Honestly, those who remove IE from the XPCD are kidding themselve's. The IE engine is part of Window's Explorer there no way to completly remove it. Just cripple it.

Well, maybae you are right, but most of viruses come with IE and is security risk to.I just told one story about IE.My good friend have a doughter 15 year old and his doughter almost nothing know about computer, only know to use messenger and internet.Every few days he is colling me about something strange happend his doughter computer and when I look at it I find some viruses. Then I'am install xp without IE and now use only Opera browser and almost 4 month no problems with she's computer about viruses anymore.
I use Opera about 7 years for now when windows 98 is comming out.Even then is be posible to remove microsoft addware. My friend Shane is just started with his "Pc Lite" project-freeware then(xplite) and system is working much better without IE,also work better now.For long years I'am a beta tester of xplite too,but now I like to remove microsoft addware before I install it,but this is just my opinion,so I'am really glad that you try your best with this addons. This method is more faster then nLite and all this stuff we can do only with integrator.I can only say, without your work guys here, this options not be posible,so Thanx again all of you!

Cheers!

I'm not saying that IE is good. I hate it. I'm just saying that there is no way to fully remove IE, it's embedded in the Window's Shell.

Hi,
Could you create some addons to remove Desktop backgrands and wallpapers as well as Mouse pointers? I'm knowing that most visually impaired user do not need them.

@ armond most of these packs are still beta to b used with integrator and some need extra tests
so i dont really recomend using Delete Addons in a vast way !
some work very well some not so ..
for example look: C:\WINDOWS\Web whats their! printers ,wallpapers and internet explorer stationary so break that and other things break along
try using a few that work
wallpapers one doesnt work very well yet!

i compare with unmodified txtsetup.sif clean one from full cd
and look what lines are missing with the txtsetup.sif you use/changed
and offcourse what setup error tells you [WinntDirectories] line 91 = missing
this is common error when their is missing dir for setup to write to we are deleting files not directories
and thats because the integration missed this line or deleted it by mistake lol
doesnt mean that the addon is bad so u can add the line back and try setup again :P

few minor updates

try adding the following lines Rudi1

Code: Select all

91 = Help\Tours\mmTour
92 = Help\Tours\htmlTour
These lines should go right after the following

Code: Select all

79 = Resources\Themes\Luna\Shell\Homestead
your txtsetup.sif file seems to be missing the actual lines that contain the "key" with value 91 (along with a few others)

not sure if that is because you tried to remove a component that needs em or what but give it a shot :)

@Rudi1 ur missing this line *msagent\intl*
right after *config* before *Cursors* in txtsetup.sif
related to help files C:\WINDOWS\msagent windows agent
That line is removed because that directory is not needed. That's why the Window's Agent Removal now inclues and Intl.inf. Also your Wallpaper addon is broken because the file's are referenced in .inf's. If setup can not find those files it will skip that part of installation t-29 - t-23

all related to idexingSrv some are not installed by default
had no problems with these added to the pack for now
try a small google search to have a better knowledge of what they really are

Code: Select all

webhits.dll ,cic.dll ,CIC.HTM ,CIC.TXT ,idq.dll ,infosoft.dll
offfilt.dll ,query.dll ,ixsso.dll ,LangWrbk.dll ,mimefilt.dll ,nlhtml.dll
missing ones :

Code: Select all

noise.kor ,noise.jpn ,noise.dat
im running a check on them a gain i see webhits.dll needed for iss
tho some of them are good for removing bad bugs lol

Hi all,
I have a question and think that should asked here:
I want to remove some XP's integrated drivers so that XP's setup do not detect them and install their original drivers after setup finishes. Can I safely remove the following INF files from I386 directory?
NV4_DISP.INF: NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200 (Microsoft Corporation)
WDMA10K1.INF: Creative SB Live! Value (WDM)
Should I edit the txtsetup.sif and dosnet.inf files? or edit the WDMA10K1.INF and NV4_DISP.INF and empty them?
Thank you very much.
With best regards,
Armond.
