[Release] Jozef's Copy Handler Addon v1.28-070811

Post by Mrs Peel » Fri Mar 24, 2006 12:34 am

I like this file copying utility infinitely better than Roadkil's Unstoppable Copier (which has killed my file transfers on occassions causing permanent data loss). Copy Handler is right up there in my top 20 most used freeware utilities and can also be registered as a shell extension if you choose, but I have not included that setting in the config because I don't like it personally.

I've also included the extra language packs available on their home page. Wasn't I kind? ;)

Copy Handler Information
Copy Handler program is a small tool designed for copy/move files and folders between different storage medias (hard disks, floppy disks, local networks, CD-ROMs and many other).
Advantages of the program:
* copying data at up to 6-7 times faster than standard MS Windows copying (when copying data from one partiton to another on the same physical hard disk)
* allow full-control over the copying/moving process by pause, resume, restart and cancel features
* fully customizable - over 60 detailed options - from setting language (multiple languages) through auto-resume on error, shutting down system after copying finished to very detailed and technical (customizing copy/move thread - buffer sizes, thread priority, ...) ending on sounds on specific events
* multiple languages support - and more may appear, since the translation process is quite easy
* provides detailed informations about copy/move process (currect file, buffer sizes, priority, progress by size and visual bar, status, current and average speed, time elapsed/left, ...)
* can automatically resume all unfinished operations when system starts
* limiting count of simultaneously processing tasks (copyings/movings) - tasks are set into a queue and are processed in order it was inserted into queue
* integration with system - adds additional commands to context menus of folders and drag&drop menus
* this program is open source - just download and use...

Mrs Peel, once again thanks for your wonderful addons.

Could you please verify the MD5 hash above? I'm getting

211F018ADF0553562769F47B43BAFB55

instead of:

c77ede67aefcebde9395d8747aced14b

after downloading it 3 times.

Thanks again for all the time and effort you put into RyanVM.net... so glad you found us!

Cheers!

Mrs. Peel, and all contributors on this board, Thanks for all the work you do on add-on packs and to promote this on-line community.

In your description for this add-on you mention that Copy handler is in your top 20 most used freeware utilities. Can you enlighten us with the rest of your top 20 list?

The only reason I ask is that I'm always looking for someone to mention a tool of some sort that I've never heard of, enriching my computing environment and putting me onto something I've never seen.

This is the first post i have made on this board, but your statement got my curiosity up. I've learned an awful lot by examining some of the add-on packs created by you and a few others.

I suppose I should have moved this question to a new thread, but here it is anyway.

-- Steve Olson
Hey there Steve and welcome to the board!

Yanno that is a cool bananas idea for a new topic down in General Discussion and a 60 Million Dollar question to be sure so I will send this down to a new thread there ;)

I am interested to know what peeps top 20 lists are too :D

1. This is an addon

2. The source files for this did not come with an installer

3. If you want someone to specially build you a switchless installer I suggest you take your request here: http://www.ryanvm.net/forum/viewforum.php?f=3

4. Isn't it amazing that, no matter how much work you do for free for people, there is always some ungrateful person who expects you to stretch yourself even further by making something exclusively just for them

Good news (for everybody except Wesmosis) I've just rebuilt this with an uninstaller and added extra shortcut in the startmenu (cos I use it a LOT)

Enjoy ;)

she has her server setup to permanently ban anyone who makes more than a certain number of connections to it. unfortunately most of the people being banned are 1) using a badly coded download manager, 2) using the firefox addon "fasterfox" and/or "firetune" or 3) messed with, or had someone else mess with the "network.http" settings in about:config.

connect to a proxy, and download the addon from internet explorer. if that doesnt work then the server is down, which im sure is something she would be aware of.

as she mentioned in the info viewer post, (loudly i might add ;) ) she is re-doing all her addons on her server.. the main Mrs Peel homepage lists this fact on the bottom of the page, so give it time!

the link for her main site can be found at the begining of any of her download links..

good luck and have patience

For most of the MrsPeel addons, there are alternatives available from other sources (wincert.net, winaddons.com). Personality clashes notwithstanding, I really, really like the stuff the MrsP puts out. But during her absence, you'll have to "make do".

Mrs Peel is NOT absent.... she is just really Really REALLY fucking busy right now, but still checking in once or twice a day in "lurk mode".

I miserably under-estimated how much time it would take to get this lot recoded to a better INF standard and update all my release notes to a new (and much much prettier) template standard also.

If anybody wants to volunteer to be my secretary for a few days I could probably get the installer recoding part of this job polished off in less than a week....

All that damned clerical work.... it always kills me.... grrrrrrrrrrrr (((((sob)))))
