Is this addon OK to use on a SP3 install?

I ask because SP3 has updated versions of some runtimes, and I don't want to use this to overwrite newer versions if I can help it. :)

Anyone used it on a SP3 install and had any problems?

kel 'preciate the pack but could you maybe post a list for those of us less runtime savy people with the names of the runtime packages and where to find them, in conjunction with the files list?

what i mean is, that i would like to see something like this

@Firefrorefiddle: you should add the url to the first part of the code with {url=location}. The braces would be your standard square brackets when in actual use.

Question, if I just replace the old Runtimes.CAB in the 386 directory with the new one with the updated DLL for 4.4. Will this work? Or do any other files need to be changed/updated as well?

you should also replace at least runtimes.inf (runtimes.in_) file, make sure you also have usp10.dll up-to-date

but the major problem is about MSVC2005 & 2008 runtimes... personally I remove them for this addon pack...

Feel free to re-use this to save yourself time (also includes an update to the VC8 runtimes)...

Edit: updated [rs] to include a newer VC8 CRT (other VC8 runtimes are unchanged)

Posted a newer version of my personal pack last night with the VC8 CRT updated to build 3053 (the rest of the VC8 assemblies are at 873). As always, anyone is free to incorporate anything I post into their addons (no need for crediting, either...)

I can't speak for Kel, of course, but the omission of msdia71/80/90.dll from my own personal pack was done on purpose because msdia's not really a runtime and is used only for debugging (working with PDBs), so its usefulness in a runtime pack is rather limited. Are you requesting the msdia* files because you actually need them, or because you're wondering why these three files are omitted from Kel's pack?

Hi Kel. I like this runtime package you made an would like to install it to a computer that already has windows installed. So far I downloaded the file Kels_Runtimes_addon_v4.5.CAB and extracted that to the folder Kels_Runtimes_addon_v4.5. I then extracted Runtimes.CAB to a folder named i386. I then right click on Runtimes.inf and chose install. I am convinced this method has installed all the correct files to my system, however the files in the asms folder (which i am guessing are VC runtimes?) do not get installed. Is what I am doing so far installing everything?
