[Release] Vista Drive Indicator! (3 flavors)
Really weird issue with this app
Awesome app! However, I have noticed an extremely weird issue with it. If it is running, any and all file and folder icons contained in optical media (CDs, DVDs) have the firefox icon to them. And only on optical drives. Weird, huh?

I have created new icons for Vista drive indicator. Includes 16x16, 32x32 and 48x48 icon size. The indicator of used disk space is from the original icon set, but the icons are the original from Vista (only 16x16 system drive icons are changed a little because there is not enought space for the disk usage indicator and the original Vista icon).
Feel free to use them

Hello all and congratulations for the great work! I think that this is an excellent addon. I have installed it in my system with a new unattended DVD and indeed it was working perfectly, despite the fact I had already "slipstreamed" the Vista Icons Pack v3. But after some days and many reboots (well my system is unstable this period), I noticed that some icons didn't work anymore. I have 4 HDDs (5 partitions) in my system and sometimes the 3 of them were loading the correct icons, other times only two and latest only the system partition! The other partitions have the empty icon!
I tried to find out what is going wrong and I found the installation path of the vista indicator (C:\Windows). When I opened it, I saw that there was an .exe file and only 5-6 icons! I compared them with the contents of the .cab addon file, where the icons are about 30. So, I understood that many icons were deleted or missed during the last days and that's why the icons of other partitions didn't load.
But what is really crazy is this: When I decided to manually execute the vistadrive.exe I saw that immediatelly another icon file deleted! After 10 seconds I re-executed the program and again another one icon file deleted! So I understood that this is what is happening. In every reboot, when the vistadrive.exe was executed, the icon files one-by-one were being deleted. The major question is WHY and if this has to do with the "Vista Icons Pack v3" (I don't think so). Has anybody else the same problem? Thanks.
PS: Now I have uninstalled the "vista drive indicator" and the default Vista HDD icons are loaded.

Does this program need to be always running because I don't see that drive icons changes dynamically when the free space changes but only during windows start? And I have problem, when I created seventh partition all six partition had this progress bar but not seventh, I tryed reinstall program but I still have this problem.

99.9% chance its something else...but after installing this, whenever i put in a CD/DVD (real or virtual), the icon on "my computer" did not change. i could get to the data by double clicking on the icon, but if you looked at my "my computer screen", you would assume that no CD/DVD was there. i uninstalled the vista drive indicator but the problem persisted.
like i said, 99.9% chance its something else or something dumb i did. but if this has happened to anyone else, it might be something to look into.

@kel :: i may not be Doug but i can answer that question.. yup very simple to add coverage for em..
right now the script checks for only "Fixed" type drives.. but the function used to check drive types also returns a value for removable drives.. all that needs done is to add "Removable" to the ifcheck and it should then trigger on both "Fixed" and "Removable" drives..
hope this helps

heh
@Kel i can change the script for you if you can repackage the sucker.. (icons and all)
coding i can do.. building the blasted thing again? i can prolly do but rather be safe then sorry
its only like a single line of code changed to make it work
EDIT :: bleh.. spoke too soon.. turns out floppy drives have the same drive type as ThumbDrives.. both show as "Removable" so it might take me a bit longer to weed them out.. i have a few ideas so hang tight.. back with more later
EDIT2 :: alrighty then.. problem solved.. edited the script to start looking for drives at the third drive.. ( drive C ) and made it check the status of the drive for "READY" (incase there is an oddball floppy out there somewhere)
tested on my system with a thumbdrive inserted and just ran the script with autoit.. works like a charm.. want i should send you the script Kel?

hmm i am leaning towards adding some functionality to the auto-insert-notification part dealing with plugging in a removable drive.. else we are stuck with speeding the 10 minute while loop up .. considerably
hey dougie, feel up to some research 'bout how to accomplish said use of the notification?
gone slightly beyond looking at an autoIT script and fixing it to show for removable drives here
