Took me awhile to get back to this one.

It works just fine.
I was going to ask if you could update this, if necessary. But after looking at the mess you got goin' on here, I think it's just fine the way it is. :P

(Does everyone really need that much in their CPL?)

I love this pack. All you guys, girls (and assorted Kels) who prefer the CP AIO pack.. Well, you're more focused people than me. :) Once my CP has enough icons that a scrollbar appears, I start avoiding it, and all the goodies IN it I should be using regularly! :)

larciel: There's two standalone addons available on the board for each of those utilities. I use 'em both, and they work great :)

Why oh why, Kel?

What's the deal with this msconfig thing? Startup.CPL is AWESOME. I use it ALL THE TIME to clean up the Windows boot (and w/o the annoying little message that 'msconfig' gives. GREAT little tool... why?

Hey, if it's a good reason, i'll eat my words. :P

AutoPlay and MemTest are great, too. I never even used 'em til your pack. Now, I use 'em at least once a week. (I know. Sad to say, we got some OLD OLD pc's....)

Honestly, though, I think you could do w/o Bootvis.
It seemed like a good app. But I really don't see a big difference in boot times by using. Plus, it's 'supposedly' built into Windows already. I don't like it, and I don't wanna risk it interfering with the other tools I use to clean crap up... which actually WORK (aka, CCleaner, ntregopt, and PerfectDisk) Those are MY tools to keep the bootup fast.

Just my 2 pennies.

I had msconfig in there simply because it is usefull for debugging, editing the boot file, Stopping services from running and alot of other uses (Really a one stop shop for a lotta stuff) plus it was only a reg section and a 14kb icon. :P

Since this was originally requested by you I have made your requested changes...

Hehehe, well, msconfig is easy enough to 'Run' to... (plz forgive the pun), and I absolutely HATE the messages it gives you (before and AFTER restart as well). I heard a rumor that Microsoft used it as a basis for Vista's UAC, lol.
:P

Plus, I think Startup.CPL is more powerful. It actually completely erases the Reg entry. Really good for removing WLM from the startup, as well as some spyware.

And Bootvis, well... I just didn't see it doing anything for me. Also, once I found out it was actually an MS tool, I lost even MORE faith in it. After the first few nlite'd disks I made, I stopped using it, even though it was still in the Control Panel. Those other apps I mentioned previously actually DO make boot up much faster.

Anyways, thx for the update, Kel.

PS:
If you look at the replie, you'll see 'm NOT the only one using this, btw... just the most outspoken!!

Oh, and you forgot to mention CabTool in the 'what's included' section (which I use OFTEN... DON'T REMOVE!!) :D

Hello Kelsenellenelvian, the responses to your pack are enthusiastic, I read the description and like to use the MemTest. However, the download button is stale. http://www.wpiw.net/downloads/addons/Ke ... n_v1.7.CAB gives error 404 :o
Thank you

Hello Kelsenellenelvian again, sorry for the post, I had not read all messages, however when mine ended up at the end, I saw your answer. I just downloaded it successfully. Nice little pack! Thanks again.
Working with computers since 1960 and still haven't caught up. Sigh!

I think CPLbonus.dll may be missing from the latest update. I've fixed it locally for myself but thought you'd like to know.
