Before

Code: Select all

explorer /root,::{645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E}
After

Code: Select all

explorer ::{645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E}
I exed the /root, part from your tweaks and it does not show the recyclebin as ::{645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E} in teh address bar when you select Open or Explorer from the Right Click menu

EDIT: Arnab that little MoFo fixed the Empty Recycle Bin right click

Now oxco we need to find out what entries are unneded so we don't go adding crap to the registry that dosent need to get added

Code: Select all

I tried it on a fresh install to (because I've done a lot of mucking with my registry) and the same thing was showing.
I use the 'regfile' settings that I have posted in this thread and I have never had this problem.

Regfile for 'Recycle Bin on the Start Menu', including "Empty Recycle

Post by Sanjay » Sat Jan 20, 2007 12:59 am

This 'Regfile' is for those who might want to do this on an already installed windows or thru the 'regtweaks.reg' which is run via cmdlines.txt in an unattended install.
These are all the settings needed to have a complete working 'Recycle Bin on the Start Menu', including "Empty Recycle Bin" in the right click context menu.
The "Empty Recycle Bin" in the right click context menu is courtesy 'Arnab' from winmatrix.com'.
I have reduced the entries to only what are required to make this work, or atleast I think so. If anyone can find any other unneccesary entries please do point them out.

So now we have:
Right-Click
--> Open <-- Working
--> Explore <-- Working
--> Empty Recycle Bin <-- Working
--> Create Shortcut <-- Working
--> Properties <-- Working
--> Show On Desktop <-- Would be nice to have but not important.
--> Icon showing actual Empty/Full state <-- Still to be cracked.

Thus there is only one final thing left to make this tweak a complete success, ie. to get the Recycle Bin Icon to automatically change and reflect the actual state of the Recycle Bin, Empty/Full.

Nevertheless, congratulations to all who have contributed to make this wonderful tweak work. Thanks for a job well done.

Yea Sorry but the addon also needs work not just the link :P

Seems when you rename the recycle bin on the SMenu it adds another recycle bin to the desktop making it 2 in total... And I don't like having the recycle bin on the desk hidden by default

It was in same behavior before v02. When you refresh desktop, it disappears again.

Well for one the lines in red are not needed.
Other than that I don't know...maybe the InitPropertyBag can go.
Not sure...when I tried clearing out the items it just kept breaking.
I figured that they didn't seem to be hurting at all anyway.

rick,
The changelog is kinda confusing. Also, is this v0.3 or v0.2?
Think maybe you forgot to update that part of the first post? :wink:

What sucks exactly?

I haven't used it as an addon yet, but using the reg code on WinCert works just fine.

:wink:

PS:
You might also wanna change the Size and MD5 on the first post. :P

Hi everyone! I'd like to thank everyone that has worked on this recycle bin inf file. I know its hard work, so thats why I would like to thank you all.

There's not much I can do to repay you, but one thing that I can offer is perhaps a G-mail invite.

If you would like one, just PM me with your request, and I'd be more than happy to give you one ;)

Once again, I thank all of your for working for hard on this tweak!

PS: I'm also known as prx984 ;)

To disable the renaming change this line:

HKCR,"CLSID\{2559a1f6-21d7-11d4-bdaf-00c04f60b9f0}\ShellFolder","Attributes",0x00000001,50,01,00,20

to this:

HKCR,"CLSID\{2559a1f6-21d7-11d4-bdaf-00c04f60b9f0}\ShellFolder","Attributes",0x00000001,40,01,00,20

I think this build is warranting the increase to v1.0 so it becomes an Official release.

Can you make the windows refresh the desktop automatically after renaming? If so, that tweak will be OK.

By the way, this is a great job. Thanks for your hard work on this mates :P

Rick,
Could you post the one I sent you as an Alternative maybe? Some people might wanna change the name of their Recycle Bin, I think.

It works just fine for me!! :wink:

All the Lines are left in the addon I just dissabled them by putting a Semicolon in front of it

Code: Select all

; ### Renamable Recycle Bin on Start Menu (REG_BINARY)
;HKCR,"CLSID\{2559a1f6-21d7-11d4-bdaf-00c04f60b9f0}\ShellFolder","Attributes",0x00000001,50,01,00,20
Just remove the Semicolon I marked in Yellow and the re nameable recycle bin is enabled
