I've had great success with both.

Seems the slipstream version makes my ISO a bit smaller (as well as Integration of other addons faster, since it's already there).

Only strange thing I've noticed with the slipstream is that when I used the "tweaked" setting, my MediaPlayer was taller than it usually was so I went back to normal setting. I use nLite to get around the Privacy Statement and tweak the display.

Thanks, boooggy!! This thing works great. I just got up enough courage to try it yesterday for the first time. Had been using the addons for a while.

This is a diffrent way to use booogy and n7Epilson's WMP11 Slipstreamer Unattended with the RVM Integrator

I made a silent switch maker so yall can integrate WMP11 unattended with the WMP11 integrator using the switches included with the proggy... Here it is, just follow the instructions that are included in the Readme on how to make the silent switch

Does the slipstreamer apply these hotfixes also?

Not to sound ungrateful but it is getting a little confusing with changes to the Slipstreamer and there being no version numbers and/or changes to the version number. I just noticed that the Hash had changed for the slipstreamer but when I download it and run it, the version numbers are all the same as before.

Thanks for your efforts and once again please don't take this as a criticism but rather a suggestion and request to please mention the updated version number for the slipstreamer in this thread. Also a mention of what all is included in the first post itself would be of great help. Thank you.

slipstreamer only adds this fixes
kb928788
kb929399
kb929773

kb931756 updates wmp.dll and its not yet included in slipstreamer cause it will increase the size of the program tooo much... but we are working on a different approach.....

as for version numbers.....they change only if something big changes...

How about letting the user provide the hotfix along with the media player installer and the slipstreamer using the provided hotfix to slipstream it. That should not only solve the size problem but also save you the trouble having to update the slipstreamer with each new hotfix. Since I don't understand all the technicalities of the slipstreamer, I understand that my suggestion might not be possible, anyhow I just thought I'd throw in my little bit. Thanks again.

Thx, boooggy!!

Hadn't seen any updates for awhile. I was wondering what happened.
I've actually seen a few people have problems lately with the "DRM-included" vanilla version (meaning the M$ installer from their website, not yours.) The tweaked is quite nice.

I had to play with it for awhile, but now that it's been out for a few months (and updated), 11 really is better than 10. It eats up more RAM at the start (prolly so that it opens faster), but once it's up, it actually uses LESS than WMP10. I also like the way it organizes the Library now. Much better.

It's great to have a tweaked version of this available!

Good stuff, as always.

Install the WMP11 Slipstreamer or copy the EXE to the %ProgramFiles%\nLite folder then Add the Windows Media Player 11 Installer from Microsoft into the Hotfixes Tab and when it comes time to integrate WMP, nLite will launch the Integrator and Slipstream it

is the tweaked wmp addon compatible with windows server 2003? i have a previous 2k3 build which still works! when i try to integrate this pack with nlite, i get a cannot copy uxtheme error & with rvm integrator, it doesn't integrate at all. can i use the uxtheme file from 2k3 & replace the one in this addon to make it work?

But there is an update WMF today : http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929399 Says version 4, and Windows update just updated my computer with it. Strange as the 929399 already exist. Different file ?

hi ya booogy, tried replacing the xp uxtheme with 2k3 version but doesn't seem to be working. the addon seems to integrate but i think the files aren't registering properly?! when i check the media player folder (after 2k3 install), it still contains media player 10 but for some reason, media player 10 doesn't work & there are no shortcuts for it in the start menu, desktop or the quick launch!

Sorry if this has been asked or I'm just being stupid - can you integrate the tweaked pack with NLite by itself? I see that it's a .CAB file and I'm not sure, thanks.

@boooggy
Just used the Slipstreamer on a Spanish XP cd... no issues at all. The icon looks pretty sweet!
(Installed on 3 different machines: Intel, VIA, and SiS chipset).

I integrated with nLite. All clear.

Good job, boooggy.
Thx for keepin' up with it.

Possible problem with addon?

Post by Jackboot » Wed Apr 04, 2007 4:16 pm

It is possible that there is an issue with the "vanilla" addon. It is also entirely possible that the problem is me! :D But I thought I'd report it here and see what advice you can offer.

I installed the vanilla addon to an nlited xp installation. WMP11 installs just fine and no errors occur. That is, until I try to use my Zen Vision:m MP3 player. There is no CREATIVE driver for this player. It uses the windows "MTP" driver (media transfer protocol?) which is bundled with WMP10 (and 11 of course). This MTP driver is not available with WMP9 or by itself for WinXP systems as far as I can determine - it is integrated with WMP10+.

So, when I plug the Zen Vision:m into the computer's USB port, it begins to recognise it but then returns with the "there was a problem installing..." error message. It does not look like it is possible to install the player on this machine.

To test, I tried plugging the MP3 player into a different nlited machine with only WMP9 installed on it. MP3 player is not recognised as expected since WMP9 does not include the MTP driver. So I downloaded and installed WMP11 via the normal route (MS website). After WMP11 is installed, the MP3 player is recognised without a problem.

To my weak mind it appears that the problem has something to do with the MTP driver and the "vanilla" addon. I have not tried the "tweaked" addon but I doubt that would make a difference.

What are your thoughts? Could there possibly be a problem with the addon? TIA!

Sweet...good luck - I wish I was smart enough to help.

FWIW I don't think the problem is specific to Zen players - I think the same problem would occur with *any* player that uses Microsoft's MTP driver which is included in WMP10+. If you can locate what is going on with the MTP driver (which seems like it is not installing correctly) then I think you'll solve the problem.

hi! just an update on issue about Creative and WMP11 ... even with the latest WMP11 and not using boooggy's addon or wmp11 slipstreamer --- issue still presents itself ... it works alright with WMP11 ... just my thougths --- it's NOT boooggy's addon ... it may be with wmp11 or firmware (when available) for the device should be updated
