Windows Media Player 11 ENGLISH XPSP2 v11.0.5721.5146

MSI file information: 25 MB - MD5 = a29471914b44d1fbea607734b0656a54

Upon installation of this Windows Media Player it will show v11.0.5721.5145 even though this installation is v11.0.5721.5146 because the version number is picked up from the file wmp.dll and not the player's executable.

This MSI is designed for corporate deployment which seamlessly overwrites the existing machines Windows Media Player 9 or 10 files.

Take notice, the MSI is switch-less, executing it = Installed

Get it from my repository.

Shark007, is your addon compatible with Nlite 1.21 and 1.3 RC?

If not, can you, please, make it compatible.

I'm sorry you take such offense to someone building upon your work as a basis for their own release along with giving you credit for the original packaging. I thought this was all about sharing...

Many users wanted this type of addon package, and i gave it to them since you removed yours in a permanent manner (as far as i can see).

well u didnt even ask me what's up .....if i did remove it permanent or not u just assumed and voila....
if u would followed the previous wmp thread u would know its not first time when i removed the tweaked addon.
it is about sharing but not the way u did it.

Probably if he asked booogy he could post this... but he did not ask, and "that is not the way" i mean.

Changing an icon and then naming it for yourself is not 'building on someones work'.

Hey Shark007, you should use another number for "243 = system32\drivers\UMDF" Check Ryans entries.ini file, and 241, 242, 243, 244, 245 and 246 are used. Maybe you can use 247 or sth else.

You'll have to grab it again, I re up'd it because i am not proficient at addon creation. When i changed the dir spec to 247 i forgot to change the file directive spec to match. corrected.

Please use something well outside the 247 range. I can't promise you that 247 won't end up in a future pack. Use something like 600.

The directory directive is set to 601 in my release.
I've also changed/added the reg tweaks as requested (by users like you).
Information is also posted on my repository.

Actually, I had planned on doing the same as Shark ...but I was waiting to get it cleared with Ryan and Sigi. Also, I was gonna tweak a few more things than just the icon.
Oh well. No big whoop.

But why post it to rapidshare? (yuck!!)

BTW, I like the new avatar, Ryan!!

Windows Media Player 11.0.5721.5146 Released 1/15/2007

It was integrated onto virgin XPSP2 and verified to function correctly.
Also available is an MSI for corporate deployment.

Files are on now hosted my repository because i intend to keep this up-to-date.

even if ms released so called update to wmp.....files are the same
only thing that is new is the installer, tthe files inside are the same as the ones released on nov 2nd. (size, build date and md5 hashes).
so this so called update is just the same as the previous.

Thanks for the information. None-the-less I've updated my release to reflect the latest offering from Microsoft.

I also released my MSI to public distribution for those wanting to deploy WMP11 in a corporate environment.

Can somebody explain the difference between the two? I see nothing on Booogy's msfn thread that states his addon is not compatible with RVM integrator.

What tweaks are used?

Whose WMP11 addon should I use if I just want a straight forward addon of WMP to shut up MicrosoftUpdate and has all the fixes in it - perhaps only tweak would be to default to corporate skin?

u can use both.....the only difference is in tweaks
in rest they are the same...
ps read first post
and if u want to know what tweaks are in it u can donleoad the wmp.reg file from my thread in msfn. (actually there are more then in this pack)

@ Shark007

The MD5 = ee42cd3ed885edaf4612678b1defb227 listed at the repository does nto match the new downloaded file. Could you please confirm if the MD5 is correct or it is just my downloaded file that is corrupt.

Grab it again from the main repository. MD5=7b55292efe04beed33df045982cdd84f

I like being proficient in my endeavors and had forgot to update the date and version # in the ini file

The mirror is in the process of being updated

You're right and thanks for sharing.

I can't fix it right now because I no longer have the tweaks supplied to me by others and its obvious I included the wrong INF when i packaged it because I do remember adding 'Audible' as one of the tweaks. The main reason they wanted the tweaks changed to supplied tweaks was default video sizing upon open. I dont use this at all so I'm not exactly sure what they meant.

I do install it on XP machines, but my preference for a player is MPC.

The MSI offered in the 1st post is a switchless MSI

executing it = installed. (deploment ready)

Boooggy, would you please cleanup and move this thread where it belongs.
[Switchless Installers Releases]

Sorry for the inconveniences i caused.
