I think it's somewhat safe to say that if you have integrated IE7 into your source and performed an install with that source, you're pretty much stuck with IE7. If you can find an install routine for IE6 I suppose you could try to execute that and see what happens, but something tells me that even if it appears to work you're still going to be stuck with some IE7 code in there somewhere.

There seems to be a problem with the latest version of IE7 pack.

I integrated the following packins in this specific order using a brand new XP SP2 CD:

RVMUpdatePack2.1.11
RUPUpdates-2.1.11.13-Addon
NR_IE7en_Addon_1.0.6b_alt

Using QFECHECK I get the following output:

KB937143:  This hotfix should be reinstalled.

The following files are incorrect for this hotfix:
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\BROWSEUI.DLL
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\SHDOCVW.DLL
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\SHLWAPI.DLL

So I made a few invesigations and it seems that these files are found in both IE7 pack and in RUPUpdates pack.

RUPUpdates pack contains the newer version (the correct one). The problem is IE7 pack contains older versions of them.
So because of the order of integration, IE7 pack being the last one, the correct files are overwriten by the older ones and thus resulting in the QFECHECK output.

My questions is what can I do ?

Can I simply remove those files from IE7 pack without breaking anything, or the files should be removed from RUPUpdate and be put in the IE7 pack because they are newer ?

integrate the ryanvm update pack and code's update addon 1st, close RVM integrator, re-open it and integrate IE7. the IE7 addon needs the older versions (its not a big issue) and if you later use nlite to integrate the last 2 IE7 hotfixes manually (check for references to them earlier in this thread), they may get patched anyway.

this is basically the method i use to integrate IE7, and i havent had any problems with it for my last 5 or 6 ISO's.

I am getting the same issues that gabriel_ro reported however I am integrating the following packs in this order on Windows XP Home SP2:

RVMUpdatePack2.1.11
RUPUpdates-2.1.11.13-Addon
NR_IE7en_Addon_1.0.6b
WScript57-1.0.0-Addon.7z
wmp11slips0.85i.exe (via built-in integrator)
Driverpacks (all of them - current versions)

Is there anyway I can change the integration order to resolve this issue without reinstalling KB937143 post XP installation?

I am getting another issue with KB933811 and JSCRIPT.DLL which might be related to the order of installation for WScript57-1.0.0-Addon.7z.

I might ditch WScript57-1.0.0-Addon.7z in any event however is there any way to fix this issues?

A) there are 2-3 hotfixes that would need to be added. its much simpler to either do a post-install or integrate the addon as-is and use nLite to add the remaining hotfixes.

B) NR's work on this addon is very extensive. i actually considered updating the addon for personal use, but the inf files contain so many reg entries that unless someone has a week or more to pour over this addon, no one but NR will be able to update it.

C) the core of the problem is that two hotfixes in this addon would have to be REPLACED - meaning reg and filepath entries would have to all be cleanly removed. then updated reg entries and filepaths would have to be added for the new hotfixes. its not just a simple matter of pasting new hotfix entries to the end of an inf file...this would seriously require a LOT of work.

someone should look into making an IE7 slipstreamer, similar to the one Boooogy made for WMP11...

I definitely agree and if possible that would be an incredible answer to the IE7 confusion... even now I'm unsure which IE7 update works problem free so I continue to be hesitant in using them

I think you should add it. "click to activate" was added only due to legal problems: security is not reduced by removing that message.

By the way, if I set IEAccess=off in my winnt.sif, then I can't activate quick launch bar. It works if I don't slipstream your addon.
Ok, you're gonna tell me : "What's the point to slipstream IE7 if you don't use it ?!"
Well, I mainly use Firefox, but some web site requires IE so I use IETab plugin. And it's better to use IE7 engine rather than IE6

EDIT : Here is a quick fix . In fact, the quick launch bar can't be activated because "%UserProfile%\Application Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch" does not exist. So, I simply added this in my cmdlines.txt and it works like a charm :

mkdir "%UserProfile%\Application Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch"

im prety sure ure addons works cuz all other ie7 addons used to work and nows ther are issues with ryan b3 update pack, i just hope it come to his attention.afew of the ie7 hotfixes are in rvmudp b3 witch leads me to belive there maybe registry issues.. or just soemthing else.
