Simply this is super for unattended driver setups.

You take a driver and use this app on it and it will strip out the extra unnecessary crap leaving only the compressed needed driver files.

e.g.:
Today I downloaded forceware driver from nVidia

Downloaded package was 40.5 megs

Extracted folder was 43.5 megs

After it was processed it was only 20.7 megs (Like 55% cleaner)

This will save you lots of space on you UA setups and driver disks.

Don't forget to ALWAYS select a new folder for the destination folder.

Size 91.7 kb MD5Hash = 4364CB0C19BE878B71D28CEB4D6F6663

Now a simple question - do you think I should add this to the uberpack???

I would only use the XP driver integration feature ONCE!

Apparently it doubles up entries and messes up your txtsetup file.

Other than that it is GREAT for what it does...

Hmmm ... so the *program* has this problem? I wonder if there was a way to make the program detect if the entries were already added. Anyway, I am going to try this out. I will see what it can do for me.

You can get the source... From the thread it was coded in nsis and the developer dropped it.

If you know nsis and can do it updating this would be awesome!

About driver Compressor, can anyone confirm the following. I've used a tool, I thought NVLiTE v2.119, and my Nvidea Multilanguage driver was a lot of less in space then when I did the job with DrvComp. Should DrvComp also removed the following (red files are not removed by DrvComp). With al files the size is 21.5MB and with less: 14.3MB.

nv3dNLD.ch_
NV4_DISP.CAT
nv4_disp.dl_
nv4_disp.inf
nv4_mini.sy_
nvapi.dl_
nvcod.dl_
nvcpl.dl_
nvcpl.hl_
nvcplnld.ch_
NVCPNL.HL_
nvdisps.dl_
nvdispsr.dl_
nvdspNLD.ch_
nvgames.dl_
nvgamesr.dl_
nvhwvid.dl_
nvmccs.dl_
nvmccss.dl_
nvmccssr.dl_
nvmctray.dl_
nvmobls.dl_
nvmoblsr.dl_
nvmobNLD.ch_
nvnt4cpl.dl_
nvoglnt.dl_
NVRSNL.dl_
nvsvc32.ex_
nvvitvs.dl_
nvvitvsr.dl_
nvwcplen.hl_ (an *en file, must be a bug?)
nvwcpnl.hl_
nvwddi.dl_
nvwrsnl.dl_
nvwss.dl_
nvwssr.dl_ (why is this file not removed, if all *sr files are removed?)

What driver compressor does is it reads the inf and copies, then compresses all of the files that are called by the inf. As for the tool you used, NEVER HEARD OF IT :P (Side note am googling immediatly sounds neato!) But it is most likely optimized for nVidia drivers and can do it better, BUT that might break whql because it probably modifies the inf. I will look into that as I need a driver upgrade anyways :D

kk I am back :) Yes I am sure it breaks WHQL drvier signing. (Not good) But as we all now sometimes space is more important.

Personally I used to be a beta freak and never cared about WHQL but now I tend to like to keep them...

NVLite was always the best tool for this, but the devs, are not working on it for months. The source code is here (just a bat file)

Kel has not updated this app in almost EIGHT YEARS!!! I don't know if he still has it and is willing to repost it, but could I please ask why you are posting and asking about these very, very old addons/apps?

Cheers and Regards
