Corrected Link

Post by bphlpt » Fri May 23, 2008 10:16 pm

That's because the program has been updated to v12.3, but the link is for v12.2. The correct link is http://www.wpiw.net/downloads/addons/Ke ... _v12.3.CAB.

(Kel, I hope you don't mind I included the correct link in my post, here. I sincerely thank you for everything you do, especially all your various uber packs. I have no idea how you possibly have the time to put all your addons together and keep them anywhere near current. And then have to update all of their posts in all the forums that you're active in. With all you put in your packs, and the number of them, odds are that something is always out of date. I'm also sure that none of the forum members mean anything by their various comments to you. They have just gotten spoiled by all your addons, and can't seem to bear the thought of not having the very latest of all of them, with all the latest content. They just need to have a little patience. If you would prefer, I would be very happy to delete this post.)

Cheers and regards.

Edit: Thanks to Kel's update, this link is now out of date. Thanks Kel.

Always love your hard work kel!!!

Two questions though:

Is there an updated version of the Notepad++ uberpack passed version 2.0?

If so where can I find it?

Indeed Major Update, I've read the 1st Post, which you adapted/changed
Actually to be quite frankly, I would have put the version number to 13.0 :D

I was wondering, which NotePad version do you actually use?
Just out of curiosity ;)

Thanks again for your great work...
You have put me to work again :) - LOL

-----------------------------------------
Seems like you overlooked something in UberPack.inf:

Code: Select all

[Install]
(...)
addreg = (...),Notepad2.AddReg,(...)
(...)

[uldlls]
16422,%ul%,UnlockerCOM.dll,1 <- should be %unlocker%

That NotePad2.AddReg should be gone now in this version of the UberPack?
Or am I missing Something?

Also It seems that in your separate NotePad 2 addon, the NotePad2.addreg section is way much shorter that it was in previous versions of UberPack up to and including v12.5...
This is intentional?
Or can we actually copy & paste the NotePad.AddReg section from UberPack.inf (12.5 version) into the now separate NotePad2 addon (NotePad2.inf)???

I am curious about that?

LOL Mindwarper looks like I got a little more housecleaning todo.

I LOVE NOTEPAD2!!!

Also the addreg section being MUCH shorter is intentional. The way code wrote his is with the proper reg entry (The bottom line) It auto registers itsself and takes over (All your bases belong to us :P )

Kel I have a question of perhaps minor importance...

When I look at your screenshot in the first post of this thread/topic, I can see that the different addons are listed by category indeed.
But they are also ordered alphabetically.
In my install, the addons are still listed by category,but not alphabetically, but rather randomly...

Do you have an idea how this might have happened and how can one change that?
I hope that it does not have to do with in which directory the files are actually copied...

Thanks for your update btw still ;)

I do see where the issue you are talking about is now. WOW umm I don't know how it happened or how to fix it. But I do know I have had it in the past.

I think it may be with clsids or installation order, but it doest really frack anything up so as long as you ok with it then I wouldn't worry.

We can always troubleshoot more though..

Installation order you say makes sense, because the several addons and UberPack as well use indeed different CLSIDs, but integrating them with Integrator in a specific order can be troublesome.
What I can try however is integrate all addons at once with integrator.

I always do the following procedure in the order shown below
  1. UpdatePack (redxii's Post SP3) together with some of Zacam's SysFile Patches and your RunTimne 4.3
  2. UberPack & NotePad 2.08.13 & CPL Bonus 8.25
  3. Other CPL Addons
  4. Custom SysInternals & NirSoft
  5. Other Misc. Addons
Would like to do more troubleshooting indeed ;)
Perhaps I will try later to see what I can do to sort it...

Perhaps you can come up with something as well, as you have said it happened to you in the past?
Maybe the order above not very "smart"?

Ah see that might be the issue I am using nLite.

I will get a copy of the integrator (If nod32 will let me :S ) and try a bunch of the same addons.

Well actually I missed some important thing inside my list of things I do with integration (see yellow text).
That can count for something perhaps is it not?

You *do* know that you can use nlie for *all* of that (except maybe zecam's patches)? It would greatly redece your switching of programs.

Yes I do know that, but I actually like the way Integrator does its job and one can follow its progress as well, as I got acustomed to this method over the years hehe ;)
But will use nLite next to test it instead, good idea ;)

Will also try to integrate the whole lot at once with nLite, see if that helps a bit...
I guess in nLIte I better put them alphabetically is it not?

Nlite mostly goes by date. You do have some control over it by the arrows on the right side or by clicking on the top sections Name, date, build and so on.

That means one best needs to sort the addons by date or name in nLite or does that not matter much?

Hey no prob m8.

I would do reds pack first, then ie7 (if you use it), and just select all of the other addons next (remeber this is all at one time) and a customization pack (like XPize or others that have been made, if you use them).

As for the patches I do beleive all of the ones offered here can be found in nlite itself.

IE7 Hell No - LOL hahha :D
As for the Patches I do them now with Integrator before nLIte ;)
I perhaps know why it has come in a mess, I did integrate one addon after another, due to testing and code that I did not get right in the first go (per addon), but now I have sorted that as well...

But thanks for your great help !!!
I am in the process editing entries*.ini files, for date changes

One of the few that cannot be directly done by nlite is the 'XP setup resolution' patch (and the 'BVdescriptions' patch). I normally slipstream WMP11 (with the slipstreamer) first, then the integrator only patches. After that, it is all nlite.

Will test my ISO in VMWare later this weeke, when I find some time to do so...
The integration with nLite I did yesterday evening, now let's see if the list gets sorted aplhabetically now...

If not, it is not a shame, but hey esthetics is sometimes also a goal we can strive to, is it not ? :D

I tried using the Hidden Files Toggle shell extension, but it didn't work properly on my system. I then searched the net for other versions of this shell extension. Luckily I found a really good one here named SuperHidden

This one also has option to show/hide file extensions.

Damn, when I used nLite to integrate the add-ons ordered by name, it seems that the names are still NOT ordered aplhabetically... (see screenie below).

Image

Any ideas why this could be?
Next think I will try is to order the add-ons upon date this time in nLite... :?

Should I use in nLite, when ordering upon date oldest build date first or rather newest build date first?

If I select the Build date column header in nLite, it seems that the dates are indeed ordered, but if I look at the exact order, it sems that the order of addons is different from the order I find in Windows Explorer (when ordered of Last Modified date)...
How come?

Maybe mindwarper. It would appear that not everyone puts the date in the same format.

I see some that do yy/mm/dd, some will do yyyy/mm/dd, and some will even do dd/mm/yyyy. If you get *that* figured out, then it would not be so hard.

That is what I thought indeed..
But I have now all entries*.ini files in the yyyy/mm/dd format, and that still has the problem, that is what is wondering me.
I even took it a step further and edited almost all of those entries*.ini files to the same date (i.e. today's 2008/06/21)

You are tha man :)

Could it be there is a mistake in your new entries*.ini file (see below)?

Code: Select all

[txtsetup_files]
HighMAT.chm  = 1,,,,,,,103,0,0,HighMATCD.chm
HMTCD.dll    = 1,,,,,,,2,0,0
HMTCDRes.dll = 1,,,,,,,103,0,0
UberPack.cab = 1,,,,,,_x,,3,3
UberPack.inf = 1,,,,,,,20,0,0
This should be in my opinion, see yellow marked text:

Code: Select all

[txtsetup_files]
HighMAT.chm  = 1,,,,,,,1033,0,0,HighMATCD.chm
HMTCD.dll    = 1,,,,,,,2,0,0
HMTCDRes.dll = 1,,,,,,,1033,0,0
UberPack.cab = 1,,,,,,_x,,3,3
UberPack.inf = 1,,,,,,,20,0,0
Is that intentional, or did you just miss that?

how about adding QtTab for this Uber Pack

it has a few excellent features that seem very useful like :

* preview for text in most file types, same for movies and images

the fastest preview generator yet & by hovering above the files

* quick links customized in it "Applications" menu

where mmm.exe and other utils can be linked for easy access
like regshot,replacer ..

looks like QtTab will be hard to customize along with uber AIO addon, maybe to much to request now..
but i thought it will be appropriate to ask adding anyways.... :P
as you did well with Uber so far ..

thanks again!

Txtsetup says: 103 = system32\1033 so 103 is the proper # to put in there...

this has become such a better addon now that you separated the notepad from it...

I have one suggestion for the notepad++ addon, both versions.

I find it very useful as I keep original notepad.exe, so I like being able to right click any file and have a context menu item which says "edit with notepad++" (it also has the notepad++ icon to the left of the text).
If you would like this functionality add this to the [addreg] section:

Code: Select all

HKLM,"SOFTWARE\Notepad++",,,"%16422%\%note%"
HKLM,"SOFTWARE\Classes\*\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers\notepad++",,0x0,"%CLSID%"
HKLM,"SOFTWARE\Classes\CLSID\%CLSID%",,0x10
HKLM,"SOFTWARE\Classes\CLSID\%CLSID%\InprocServer32",,0x0,"%16422%\%note%\nppcm.dll"
HKLM,"SOFTWARE\Classes\CLSID\%CLSID%\InprocServer32","ThreadingModel",0x0,"Apartment"
HKLM,"SOFTWARE\Classes\CLSID\%CLSID%",,0x0,"Notepad++"
HKLM,"SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\View Source Editor",,0x10
HKLM,"SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\View Source Editor\Editor Name",,0x0,"%16422%\%note%\nppIExplorerShell.exe"
HKLM,"SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\App Paths\notepad++.exe",,0x0,"%16422%\%note%\notepad++.exe"
HKLM,"SOFTWARE\Notepad++",,0x0,"%16422%\%note%"
HKCR,"*\OpenWithList\notepad++.exe",,,""
HKLM,"SOFTWARE\Classes\*\OpenWithList\notepad++.exe",,,""

and this to the [strings] section:

Code: Select all

CLSID      = "{120B94B5-2E6A-4F13-94D0-414BCB64FA0F}"

That MAY be more than is necessary but that is everything which was different from what is already in your note.inf, that was "notepad++" related, which had been changed after I did an actual install of notepad++ and immediately compared regShots.

you will also need to include the nppIExplorerShell.exe file, but those are the only changes which need to be made for this to work...

I have edited yours to include these things by default, if you want to keep yours how it is then maybe it would be O.K. if I posted mine for those who would be interested in this option if they so feel not inclined to do it themselves manually.

Your call as this is your addon!

Ummm the uninstallable version already inclucludes the explorer extension.

nppcm.dll

and registers it.

Is it not working for you for some reason?
A shortcut is placed in your Programs menu in the Accessories section and also on the desktop. It also includes the explorer extension.

A quick test run shows this:

I can add in the other stuff in the next version if you agree it is still needed.
