Are using these methods any superior to using nlite to remove the same items?

Essentially, what I am asking is, if using the methods in this thread with Ryan's Integrator, is that any better than using nlite? (Or does it all come out the same in the end?)

worked on a script that determines if driver.cab needs to be expanded for driver removals

EDIT: works :) it compares dirverindex.inf with driver.cab files list
if more files show up in driver cab listing then it will expand to remove the extra that are missing from driverIndex.inf

in plan, the script isn't supposed to createcab only expand ..to avoid overlapping with updatepack and other command that need to complete before the cab creation part..

I've got problem with "Entries__Indexing.ini". RvMI stucks on "Processing [DeletelinesWith]"
:\

it should turn out the same, at least thats the goal!, the method i was talking about is supposed to make it easier testing ...

yes that "Entries__Indexing.ini" somehow turned to be a problem for rvmi to process
I'm in the process of changing these to use a faster method ..

to Rudi1 & orcoxp ...

the current addons from the topic don't need or use any system file hacks

the ones you are looking for, will need a plugin build so it takes care of system file hacks & routines aswell

I was looking into getting one made, & still am ..

thanks

Hi ENU_User, I think I found a typo in the Music sample remover:

Code: Select all

[obsolete_entries]
plylst1.wpl7
Not sure..
