a) winsock is pretty obsolete
b) if you install it, you're stuck with it.
c) no sense installing a fix that almost no one needs beforer they need it

newsposter, I see your point.

But if you can't connect to download it your in a catch 22 situation. I think it would be a cute tool for the maker of dial a fix to include

Hi Kelsenellenelvian, thanks for this pack and re uploading winsock 1.2 (sorry I didn't bother to thank you before...being lazy)

I was having a play yesterday with a test install, using your cpl pack and IE8.

upon running dial a fix it complained it could not determine IE version so would not run all parts of dial a fix.

Pop up suggests contact maker of dial fix.... not sure this is still in development, but I thought I'd mention issue I saw.

The dial-a-fix tool has helped me quite a few times so I am wondering why you would consider dumping it... I still find this entire pack awesome

Simply put dial-a-fix is not properly supporting fully up to date systems anymore.

If you don't use WMP11 and IE8 then you can always ad a standalone dfx CPL pack.

HWMonitor.exe seems to be damaged in Kels_CPLBonus_v9.8.4_addon.rar

In silent exe is OK.

Thanks for the update. I'm getting a different hash for the silent installer. I've tried several times, same hash every time: f4fad4386c96f73b0c8b9f799894e4ca

Seems to work. Is your hash up-to-date, or do I have a bad download?

Thanks.

Yes!
Extract addon, compress CPLBonus.inf into CAB with name CPLBonus.in_
Copy CPLBonus.in_ and CPLBONUS.cab into folder i386.
In that release 10.4 CUPZ does not work.

@Kelsenellenelvian
In CPLBonus.inf seems to be too many \x32
HKCR,"CLSID\{4b580a54-0c73-4a05-af1d-3953daef2004}\DefaultIcon",,,"%16422%\System\CPL\x32\x32\cpuz.exe,-128"

Kel., CPU-Z has broken icon plus not working. Also unable to uninstall 10.4 through Add/Remove. Have to use power tweaks advanced uninstall.

In file CPLBonus.inf

Wrong

Code: Select all

HKCR,"CLSID\{4b580a54-0c73-4a05-af1d-3953daef2004}\DefaultIcon",,,"%16422%\System\CPL\x32\x32\cpuz.exe,-128"

HKCR,"CLSID\{4b580a54-0c73-4a05-af1d-3953daef2004}\Shell\Open\command",,,"%16422%\System\CPL\x32\x32\cpuz.exe"
Solution: remove \x32

Code: Select all

HKCR,"CLSID\{4b580a54-0c73-4a05-af1d-3953daef2004}\DefaultIcon",,,"%16422%\System\CPL\x32\cpuz.exe,-128"

HKCR,"CLSID\{4b580a54-0c73-4a05-af1d-3953daef2004}\Shell\Open\command",,,"%16422%\System\CPL\x32\cpuz.exe"
It helped.

This one seems to have seriously gone wrong Kels. Just uninstalled 10.2 and installed 10.4.2 silent.

Here are the issues I'm getting.

CPU-Z still has a blank icon.

The following all haven't installed:
Microsoft TimeZone
Microsoft Virtual CD-ROM Control Panel v2.1
Services and Devices v2.7
Smart Driver Backup v2.12
TweakUI PowerToy v2.1
WhatInStartup v1.17
Windows Task Manager
WinUpdatesList v1.23
User Accounts 2 CPL

Also, The uninstall option is no longer in Add/Remove Programs.

EDIT: Just did a system restore to get me back to 10.2
