[Request] NFOpad 1.54

Post by avexmode » Sat May 30, 2009 5:56 pm

NFOpad 1.54 released [17th May 2009]
http://thd.dyndns.org/s_nfopad.php

I abandoned "DAMN NFO Viewer" for a long time because its not been developed.

I'm sure for those who like .nfo viewer would appreciate this.

silently or switches would be fine.

As an alternative, the modified version of Notepad2 has NFO support. And it's a great general-purpose editor to boot...
My addons: CmdOpen - HashCheck - Notepad2 - MS Runtimes - DirectX

Into the breach, meatbags!

I'm using this add-on as notepad replacement. BUT I still want a separate viewer for .nfo.

Just like "Milk on my cereal. Coffeemate on my coffee. Make sense to me".
Thanks.... :D

I love Notepad2 as a general-purpose editor, but NFO display is not fully supported:

Refering to avexmode first request, NFOpad 1.54 released [17th May 2009],
download this package, that containsboth silent installer and folder with all files needed to create the silent installer
( for case somebody want to modify silent installer.
SFX_nfoPAD.7z (1,730 KB (1,771,123 bytes), md5:92402C1D732B7A5C909B11A6EBFCEFAE)
Extract SFX_nfoPAD.exe = silent installer or use the rest of files to create a new, modified silent installer.

Silent commandline: nfopad154.exe /S

Nice, will have to give it a try

As a *.cmd files writer, sometimes with accentuated characters, I currently use an old (ansi) version of NP++ with an old (abandonned development, sources lost) plugin for OEM characters support, switching from ansi to oem with keyboard shortcut

... or use the infamous but limited edit.com

since oem compatible editors are very few, I'll be happy to try this newly discovered one

thank you guys

EDIT : have tried, it's light and interesting replacement to edit.com, however it of course lacks syntax coloring

I think you could suggest some feature(/s) you'd like to add . . . > http://thd.dyndns.org/forum.php

Can someone please make a silent installer (or addon) out of the new 1.64 x86 version?

Finally I found an utility that displays correctly those .nfo files and it's beeing constantly developed - NFOPad 1.64 is from april 2012. Or can you name alternatives? Please don't say Notepad++ or Notepad2 since both don't open those ''art'' files as NFOPad.

Not tested but should work as T-13 addon:

Thank you very much jaynbe. I was just editing my previous post when I saw your post - that was fast! :)

However, I was just re-installing this software to see if there was any unwanted stuff with it, and saw that the installer has some really unwanted options pre-ticked, like the ones you can see here.

Again thanks, and I don't want to be ungrateful, but please consider making a custom installer by removing those 3 pre-checked option (that I've unticked) - not installing also the non-english localization files, don't associate .txt files with NFOPad, and don't add the context menu to all filetypes. :)

jaynbe, thank you again for the modified addon, however it has a minor glitch - it doesn't open by default the .nfo files (tested it on a live system)... The installer has an option to associate it with .nfo and .diz files. Hope you can repack it soon. Thank you very much again :)

LE: And if you decide at some point to make it a silent installer, so I can use it in windows 7 also, you'll make me the happiest forumist for the next year or so :D

Not to steal jaynbe's thunder but if you simply pack up the original installer using the /S /NCRC switch you'll have what you want..... 8)

Yeah, however I don't really need switchless installers for windows 7, as I've found Reaper's addon of nfopad to be very good.

Once again, jaynbe, hope you'll soon have the time to update your Custom Inf-AddOn from your last post, to open by default the .nfo and .diz files. Thanks. :)
