Most, if not all, of the available Tweak packs for XP will have the registry locations you need to adjust. So save you looking, here they are:

Code: Select all

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

; Disable Automatic Updates Notifications
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Security Center]
"UpdatesDisableNotify"=dword:00000001

; Disable Anti-Virus Notifications
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Security Center]
"AntiVirusDisableNotify"=dword:00000001

; Disable Firewall Notifications
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Security Center]
"FirewallDisableNotify"=dword:00000001

; Override Antivirus
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Security Center]
"AntiVirusOverride"=dword:00000001

; Override Windows Firewall
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Security Center]
"FirewallOverride"=dword:00000001

Thanks soporific this looks great, but I was looking for addon so I can integrate it with RVM_Integrator or nLite and notifications will be disabled by it self.

The following addon will add the tweaks necessary to prevent the Security Center nag from showing in the notification area of the taskbar.

Details:
  • Intended for Windows XP SP2 or SP3, x86 or x64.
  • Untested, please provide feedback.
  • Integrates with RyanVM Integrator 1.6 and nLite 1.4.9.1, or later versions of either.
Credits:Download:Notes:
  • Includes the following tweaks. Overrides are commented out, but are easily edited to install if desired.

    Code: Select all

    HKLM,"SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Security Center","AntiVirusDisableNotify",0x10001,1
    ;HKLM,"SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Security Center","AntiVirusOverride",0x10001,1
    HKLM,"SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Security Center","FirewallDisableNotify",0x10001,1
    ;HKLM,"SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Security Center","FirewallOverride",0x10001,1
    HKLM,"SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Security Center","FirstRunDisabled",0x10001,1
    HKLM,"SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Security Center","UpdatesDisableNotify",0x10001,1

nLite can directly remove Security Center service. Or you can disable this service by default via nLine too...

There is a removal addon for RVMi on Siginet's site, scroll down to Windows Component Removal Packs.
