Microsoft doesn't update dotnet vc runtimes: if you run WU/MU in a new running system installed from an XP source where you've added only .net true addon, it will push no vc updates. Same behavior in a new win 7 pc, where .net 3.5 is build in.
You should add any vc runtime library suite and immediately WU will suggest you vc updates.

So Onepiece prefers to keep default .net behavior in his .net addon. Thanks anyway for your suggestion
Don't ask for a different configuration of Onepiece's XP AIO Update Pack: use one of the existing vanilla XP UpdatePack with your preferred addons instead

there is not nothing wrong, the dotnet35 need about 9-10-11-12 minutes to finish the configuration, depends on the speed of the PC where you are installing

@mba2431

You may want to enable the "classic setup" in nLite so that you will see exactly when each component is installed during the Windows setup.

The True Installation Mod (True AddOns) are not designed to do those things, but just to install\configure the necessary components of windows

I am wondering what the difference is between installation from sysoc.inf and installation from commandline, ex.

1)

Code: Select all

rundll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection "%systemroot%\inf\netfx20.inf,DefaultInstall
2) Using Add/Remove programs in Control Panel.

I've noticed that "mscorsvw.exe" doesn't run when using the first method. Why? How's the sysoc.inf based installation different?

advpack is not able to recognize RegisterDlls directive, so you must unpack the addon and right-click Install on *.inf file. Or use Setupapi from command line: for example, "rundll32.exe setupapi,InstallHinfSection DefaultInstall 132 %17%\netfx20.inf"

Thanks a lot :)

There's one problem though - even after such an commandline installation it's still ticked off in the Control Panel:

Image

and one more question - is there any way to run it completely silently? In case of advpack,InstallINFSection you can just add flags "4,N" and it will be silent then but it doesn't work for setupapi.

Just to be clear:

1) The test machine has OnePiece's Update Pack integrated and nothing else.
2) .NET Framework 2.0 is ticked in the Control Panel.
3) After uninstalling it through the Control Panel it gets ticked off.
4) After installing it again from commandline using the "rundll32 setupapi" it does install but it's still not ticked in the Control Panel. If I reinstall it using the Control Panel then it's ticked again.

You should add under [NETFX20.State]
HKLM,"%KEY_WIN_CURVER%\Setup\Oc Manager\Subcomponents","NETFX20",%REG_DWORD%,"1"

Or from Command line:
REG ADD ""HKLM\%KEY_WIN_CURVER%\Setup\Oc Manager\Subcomponents"" /v NETFX20 /t REG_DWORD /d 1 /f"

It works perfectly.

Thank you very much!

EDIT
Actually you don't need to add new lines but edit the existing one, i.e. change the "0" to "1" in it.

You also have to run

Code: Select all

RUNDLL32.exe advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection NETFX20.inf,NETFX20.SHOW
to enable it.

I'm sorry for nagging you, nonno fabio, but is

Code: Select all

rundll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection %systemroot%\inf\netfx11.inf,DefaultInstall
enough for .NET Framework 1.1? "Rundll setupapi,LaunchINFSection" doesn't work in its case.

You have a typo, tomasz86:

Code: Select all

Rundll setupapi,InstallHinfSection

You're right, 5eraph. Fortunately it's only a typo here, not in the script itself ^^; I wrote it from my memory (and made a mistake).

There's no "[DefaultInstall]" section in netfx11.inf.

I think I managed to do it:

Code: Select all

rundll32.exe setupapi,InstallHinfSection NETFX11 132 netfx11.inf

By the way, why is NET 2.0 set up to require "netfx11"?

Code: Select all

Needs        = wbem,com,netfx11
and .NET 4.0:

Code: Select all

Needs        = wbem,com,netfx11,netfx20,netfx30,netfx35

I just have one question concerning .NET 3.0 and 3.5.

Why isn't "ServiceModel.mof" parsed:

Code: Select all

mofcomp.exe ServiceModel.mof
during the installation of .NET 3.0? In .NET 3.5 you've got:

Code: Select all

mofcomp.exe ServiceModel35.mof
but it returns an error unless ServiceModel.mof has been processed first.

Onepiece already knows that .NET 3.0 doesn't execute some lines, that are correctly executed by .NET 3.5 but he doesn't know why.

I haven't tested it in XP/2K3 but in 2K I removed these lines from .NET 3.0's "ServiceModel.mof":

Before:

Code: Select all

[RequiresEncryption(TRUE)]
instance of __systemSecurity
{
};

instance of __Win32Provider as $P
{
    Name = "ServiceModel";
    HostingModel = "Decoupled:Com";
};

instance of __InstanceProviderRegistration
{
    Provider = $P;
    SupportsGet = TRUE;
    SupportsPut = TRUE;
    SupportsDelete = TRUE;
    SupportsEnumeration = TRUE;
    QuerySupportLevels = {"WQL:UnarySelect"};
};

instance of __MethodProviderRegistration
{
    Provider = $P;
};
After:

Code: Select all

[RequiresEncryption(TRUE)]
instance of __systemSecurity
{
};
After removing them I was able to process:

Code: Select all

mofcomp.exe ServiceModel.mof
and only after doing so I could also process this one from .NET 3.5:

Code: Select all

mofcomp.exe ServiceModel35.mof
I thought it was only a problem in Windows 2000...

It won't be so bad if you take some time to make some of those lovely addons for 64-bit uses like me. WILL IT?
l have used (Onepiece's EN-US Windows XP Post-SP3 AlO UpdatePack) due to the fact that it has everything i needed and how you placed some icon's in some places.
Now i added more memory RAM to my PC which needs 64-bit (OS) to be installed, now it seems 64-bit addons are very, very, very few. 5eraph did will for (WinXP Pro 64-bit SP2) but did not make addons.
You make many addons and also make some programs that can make the addons for us, but not 64-bit :o
Please Onepiece Help.

If you go in Windows 7 section of this forum maybe you can find something but, you know, XP 64bit is less used than XP 32bit and a x64 addon takes a lot of free time that unfortunately Onepiece hasn't.

I understood XP 64-bit taking a lot of time to make which you don't have but what is not fear is XP 64-bit is less used :x
less used shouldn't be a reason, there are a lot of people, uses looking for addons here and others.
CAN you make A program that can create the addons for XP 64-bit like the one of 32-bit (DX Universal UpdatePack/Addon Creator) :?:
just hoping you'll fined a way to help with XP 64-bit.
THANKS by the way for a great work on: WinXP Pro 32-bit) :D
YOU did it like no other.
