Updated to 2011-05_3. Please read the Changelog for full details.
Svyat wrote:be careful to integrate [KB936087], because I tried direct integration (changing just file in distribution) and Windows could not be installed properly, I think you have to provide it with catalog file or something else.
You may have forgotten to include the ASMS folder. It's working in the pack.

And thanks again for the research. If you find more, I'll be more than happy to add them.

@lyds - I'm curious, if MediaFire and MegaUpload do not work for you in China, which of the various free upload services DO work, or is it something special with your particular connection, through work or whatever, that don't allow you to connect?

Cheers and Regards

A good question, bphlpt. And thanks for testing, YumeYao. :)

Gmail has an attachment limit of 25 MB, so the pack was split into four equal parts of 23,077,779 bytes (last part is one byte short). Hopefully your email service can accept attachments of that size, lyds. If not, please tell me the maximum size you can accept per email and I'll resend as time permits. Expect four emails presently with the subject "XPx64SP2 UpdatePack, Part x of 4".

I am willing to upload anywhere if I have the time to do so. But keep in mind that it takes at least six minutes for me to transfer the update pack at 2 Mbits/s, not including the time it takes to split the archive if necessary.

Confirmed and prepared for inclusion locally. The next planned release is for this month's Patch Tuesday (2011-06_1) in roughly a fortnight which should include IE updates. Of course, if anybody would like a more immediate release for these updates I could roll one out within a few hours (the time needed for testing).

The value may well need to be adjusted when using one or more virtual machines. Add to this the possibility that an x64 OS can recognize a very wide range of installed memory (from 256 MB to 128 GB for XPx64) and it seems obvious that no single value is applicable to most OS installations. Perhaps it would be best to leave it to the user to decide if they'd like to include this registry tweak and which value best suits their needs.

That said, thank you for bringing it to my attention. I'll definitely be playing with this to see how well it works with my frequent local network transfers. :)

And thanks again, Svyat, for your diligence. The pack is becoming nearly as comprehensive as an official service pack due to your contributions. I appreciate the help. :)

They're all in, Svyat. Thanks. :)

Updated to 2011-05_5. Please read the Changelog for full details.

I normally wouldn't post so many releases within one month, but Adobe keeps releasing Flash updates—most of them critical. Otherwise I would have waited with all the new additional updates until the midcycle and Patch Tuesday relases. It's probably for the best since May saw so few critical updates.

Perhaps June will set some sort of record again. The next Patch Tuesday is less than eight days away. 8)

XPx64 has never needed WGA/WGAN, Rick. WU/MU does not offer it, and validation checks at the Microsoft Download Center always pass when using IE (example)—no validation tool needs to be downloaded or run.

I do not know if the same is true for x64 editions of Vista or Win7. I have never seen an x64 version of that DLL or CAB.

KB956826 installs no files or registry entries for XPx64. DSAdmin.dll does not exist in the source and is not listed in TxtSetup.sif or DOSNet.inf. This update is exclusive to Win2003.

It would seem that Microsoft has made a few mistakes with their articles. They should be adding a link at the top of the page to point to the hotfix request pages. They should also make certain that their KB articles match the files they offer.

The link to the request page for KB980915 shows files for other operating systems. The other KB articles don't appear to have any files available.

You seem to be a member of Xable's Hotfix Share, Svyat. Posting requests there was helpful when I was active over a year ago. Tips are provided for contacting Microsoft directly, if desired. I'll try contacting Microsoft myself, but I don't know how long it should take to get a response. My searches of the Microsoft Download Center and the Windows Update Catalog have come up empty.

Yes, I am a member of thehotfixshare.net forum and I posted there about some of the hotfixes above, but there is still no answer. That's not a big problem for me, but if them will be available, why not to include them.

@lyds:

What is OnlineDiskBrowser? I tried Google, but most references were for either a virus scanner site, or were in Chinese that didn't translate very cleanly using Google translate. Through one of those I found a download link, but no documentation was included, so I'm not going to run a exe I know nothing about.

Hello Seraph

New member here, I had been lurking but wanted to join just to give you (and your unsung hero helpers that contribute) a BIG THANKS for your efforts here. I just created my first nlite install disk using XP Pro X64 SP2 and your Post-SP2 Update Pack, your IE8 addon, AMD SATA AHCI/RAID drivers, ATI Catalyst 11.6 CCC & SB drivers, and a few other misc drivers (disk only ended up 600MB so I have plenty of room to add stuff in the future!). Install went very quickly without a hitch, and when I was done all I needed was the .NET families to complete my basic install. I would have tried to include them but I found it difficult to figure out which add-on packs were for X64 so I just left them out to be safe. The only hiccup was that Catalyst wanted .NET2.0 to be installed for CCC to load, but after going to M$U and getting the .NETS it works fine. Once I can figure out which .NET addon packs are expressly for X64 then I will add those to the mix as well. I plan on making a new install disc every time you update your release. so you now have a new subscriber/stalker, lol.

Great work, folks!

I'm getting a few driver/unsigned popups during setup warning about stuff not being digitally signed.. Is this normal? I would say I get about 6 popups total.

I'm using the newest main update along with the IE8 addon + IE8 tweaks.

Maybe I'm configuring nlite wrong or something.

Thanks

Sorry for the delay in testing, zeeter, but I have a simple fix for you. Open WinNT.sif in AMD64 of your updated source and remove the line NonDriverSigningPolicy=Ignore. :)

Thanks 5eraph!

Worked like a charm....but I'm not really sure why this changed anything. I would think since that line said "Ignore" then there wouldn't be any prompts anyways. Guess it must be a Microsoft thing.

KB970267 - ntdetect.com April 20, 2009
Maybe this update fixes 32-bit Windows issue only, but the file is newer and it's platform independent.

Also there are some updates you've not included:
KB2581130 Lsasrv.dll 5.2.3790.4886, but there is no request section available :(
KB2478953 Netlogon.dll 5.2.3790.4808

The 64-bit Flash Player ActiveX is finally out of beta, but is only officially supported in Win7. It installs in XPx64 and seems to work for IE8. Please give me your opinion on it, everybody.

I'm trying to avoid cross-platform updates like KB970267 and KB2464091, Svyat, but I'll keep checking it in case an x64 package is released. :)

KB2581130 doesn't seem to have any publicly available packages. I'll keep checking this as well.

I missed KB2478953 somehow. It'll be in the next pack.

Some files are not updated or outdated in your update pack:
KB969883 - ws03res.dll 5.2.3790.4520
KB940262 - W03a2409.dll 5.2.3790.4082;Ww03a2409.dll 5.2.3790.4106
newer is not always better

Not late. Seems like I'm updating every week lately thanks mostly to Adobe. Patch Tuesday is yet to come—6 days.

The files you list don't do anything by themselves; they're just containers for messages and other resources that other components use. They're common to many other updates. If we won't be using the other files in those packages then there's no point in updating their resource files. ;)

No publicly packages available again, looks like MSFT denied to publicly spread hotfixes for WS03 :(

Tried many times, but still download,

Network Error (tcp_error)

A communication error occurred: ""
The Web Server may be down, too busy, or experiencing other problems preventing it from responding to requests. You may wish to try again at a later time.

Can you provide an alternative download links or send the addons directly to my email?
