Thanks for the compliments, Jonny. :)

I can't seem to reproduce you issues. You've piqued my curiousity. If you'd like me to test further here I'll need more information on how you prepare your source, including configuration files ("integrator.ini" from RVMi, "Last Session.ini" from nLite, and WinNT.sif). First I'll test the ISO in VirtualBox, then I'll try to troubleshoot any USB issues on my hardware.

For the record, v1.6 of the RyanVM Integrator was the first to support x64 sources. However, the "Optimize System Files" option was not altered to work correctly on x64 sources. I don't recommend using that option with any version of RVMi on x64 sources.

When the latest XPx64 update pack is applied alone the source will only lack updates for Internet Explorer. Slipstreaming a current IE addon will also slipstream the necessary IE updates into the source. Slipstreaming WMP11 will require you to also slipstream the current list of high priority updates to satisfy the Microsoft Update website. Other packages (like .NET) may have their own additional required updates.

Performed further tests myself with WinSetupFromUSB. I've found that, when all other variables are the same: FAT16, FAT32 and NTFS all work properly for me. Also, using NTFS on the USB drive provides a significant speed boost during Text-mode setup compared to either FAT alternative. Discovered that my standard nLite test configuration works properly (Last Session.J-2013-07-30.ini, same WinNT.sif and $OEM$ folder). Tried multiple sources on USB, too (XPx64 source posted above and an XPx86 with user_hidden's updatepack +drivers). And, while a bit off topic, my camera does not like NTFS or bootable SD cards.

You have worked enough sir! :D

Rest some :D

Tho when I got mine to work that was super, I was installing to a test hdd..

I then proceeded to install to my ssd which caused the globalroot error right at the start of gui setup.. happens with FAT or NTFS confirming what you said..

So what I did was full install to the old hdd then cloned to the ssd when windows was up :D

I think I might have ticked optimize system files tho I cant remember..

but either way something weird about ssd + update pack..because few weeks ago when I tried fresh sp2 with just the ie8 addon it installed fine to ssd directl...

But dude no biggie all is good :)

No rest for the wicked. ;)

Thanks for the suggestion, Svyat. And thanks also for keeping an eye out for updates I haven't seen. It's about time I recognized your contributions.

Updated to 2013-08_1. Please read the Changelog for full details.

The Microsoft Update website has stopped offering the December 2012 KB931125 package.

Actually, Windows Update doesn't push any version of KB931125 for XP x64 currently, not the Dec 2012 one or the current "August" (signed date 27 June) 2013 one.

Also they've stuffed up their certificates again, going to httpS://update.microsoft.com or httpS://www.update.microsoft.com will get you a warning in your web browser, really inspires confidence.

You're welcome, Svyat.

They seem to have fixed the first link (sans "www"). Thanks for reporting, Kurt_Aust.

I initially missed this month's update of KB931125 and was waiting to see if a new Flash player would eventually be released before issuing a new pack with the latest roots update. Guess now is as good a time as any. :)

updatePack

Post by minutka15 » Sat Aug 17, 2013 6:27 am

5eraph
Many thanks!
This update pack is realy usefull and it saves time and so on...
So i have just one problem using this update pack,
So, my source disk is clean CD "en_win_xp_pro_x64_with_sp2_vl_X13-41611.iso"
Firstly i have integrated [Repak by ricktendo] "Windows Media Player 11 + KB970159" using WMP11 Slipstreamer, with following updates:

Code: Select all

WindowsMedia11-KB2378111-x64-ENU.exe
WindowsMedia11-KB929399-v2-x64-INTL.exe
WindowsMedia11-KB939683-x64-ENU.exe
WindowsMedia11-KB941569-x64-ENU.exe
WindowsMedia11-KB952069-x64-ENU.exe
WindowsMedia11-KB954154-x64-ENU.exe
WindowsMedia11-KB954155-x64-ENU.exe
WindowsMedia11-KB973540-x64-ENU.exe
WindowsMedia11-KB978695-x64-ENU.exe
WindowsServer2003.WindowsXP-WindowsMedia-KB2834904-x64-ENU.exe
WindowsXP-SP2-X64-WindowsMedia-KB975558-x64-ENU.exe
and it works without any problem!
***
So after using the same clean CD source i have integrated:

Code: Select all

1.[Repak by ricktendo] "Windows Media Player 11 + KB970159"
+ same updates.
2.5er_IE8_Addon_2013-08_1_x64.7z
3.5er_KB967756RollBack_Addon_v2011-05_4_x64.7z
4.5er_UpdatePack_XPx64SP2_2013-08_2.7z
using RVM_Integrator 1.6
Everything's is OK but the windows media player11 is not working properly.
Even can't start.
http://postimg.org/image/v4hcfnob9/
Starts and hangs until i kill process.
So what can be wrong?
Tested using latest Oracle VM VirtualBox.
I also used original version of wpm11 (with or without updates) with the same result.
After i made silent installer of wmp11 and used from SVCPACK and it works properly!
I would like to slipstream all addons in the same time but wmp11 don't like do that.
What can you propose or advise?
Sorry for my poor English.

Everything you've listed works in my testing, minutka15. I'd suggest changing your integration order:
  1. Use RVM_Integrator_1.6 to integrate the following:
    • 5er_UpdatePack_XPx64SP2_2013-08_2.7z
      5er_IE8_Addon_2013-08_1_x64.7z
      5er_KB967756RollBack_Addon_v2011-05_4_x64.7z
  2. Use WMP11Slipstreamer to integrate ricktendo64's repack and your desired WMP11 updates.
The update pack includes WMP10 files, so you need to integrate WMP11 afterward.

I will let you know about it.

KB943665 - bridge.sys 5.2.3790.4216
KB933230 - wmidcprv.dll 5.2.3790.4039

KB937193 - printui.dll 5.2.3790.4077 (I have 4127 but x86, but can't find appropriate KB article)
KB941253 - ftp.exe 5.2.3790.4132
KB938635 - comdlg32.dll 6.0.3790.4104 (but I have newer x86 4131, article couldn't find)

KB937193-v1 - printui.dll 5.2.3790.4077 (downloaded - Fix196540)
KB937193-v2 - printui.dll 5.2.3790.4127 (downloaded - Fix203719)

KB938635-v1 - comdlg32.dll 6.0.3790.4104
KB938635-v2 - comdlg32.dll 6.0.3790.4131 (downloaded - Fix202843)

I'll keep v2 of each and release an update soon. Thanks for the excellent research. :)

The installer for KB931305 is broken. Had to extract, swap branches.inf with KB933230, and run update.exe in the KB931305\update folder to get it to install correctly. Won't be a problem for the updatepack, but those who don't want to reinstall Windows to get this update should keep this solution in mind.

From what I gather .NET frameworks I need to grab as a separate addon as well if I plan to integrate them?

Also is direct x security update hotfix's bundled into this update pack or is that another thing I'd want to add?

I've been working on getting my server 2k3 x64 source nlited and integrated with these updates and put on a USB flash drive.

I managed to trim 2k3 x64 with 5eraph's post-SP2 Update Pack v2013-09_3 integrated down to 359mb which seems rather minimal while still being plenty functional enough for any of my general needs.

To my knowledge no addon exists to integrate the .NET frameworks for x64. Kurt_Aust has written scripts for use with nLite that can run the .NET installers at first logon thorough [GuiRunOnce] in WinNT.sif.

This update pack includes security updates for DirectX 9.0c, but does not include the bimonthly DirectX updates that enhance functionality--the latest was released in June 2010. Kurt_Aust's scripts can also run that installer, if desired.

I have performed some very limited testing of this updatepack with Windows 2003 x64 SP2. My last test was last month with v2003-08_3 and 5er_IE8_Addon_2013-08_1_x64.7z. At that time the Microsoft Update website offered the following high priority updates after a fresh install with the updatepack:

There is a good addon .NET frameworks v2.0-3.0-3.5 for x64, but for another UplatePack . I use NF3.5x64.exe for installation through CMDLINES.TXT . Well it turns out. In the same way install [Slim] .NET Framework 4 Full x86/x64.

Thanks for new update pack!
I does'nt find any one who makes UpdatePack for WINXP x64 like this.
I have just integrated once again this new update pack and forgot integrate addon 5er_KB967756RollBack_Addon_v2011-05_4_x64.7z
I also downloaded installer KB967756_Rollback_x64.exe but can't use with silent mode. The last message asking to reboot computer...
There are no keys to install silently, so how can i make it install silently?
Sure i must repack this setupper and modify KB967756.inf
Will it be possible?
And from where is better to run this installer, from svcpack or runonce?
Thanks!

You can use RVMi to integrate the addon separately after nLite, then recreate the ISO. It should work fine.

The installer is not intended to be used during Windows setup. But it should be possible to prevent the prompt to reboot by changing SmartReboot from A to N in KB967756.inf. It is still preferable to use the addon instead--the reboot will always be required with the installer, whether it prompts for it or not. Therefore, SvcPack may be better than RunOnce if trying this method.

I have Changed A to N & made simple test on the live system.
After i restarted system and when logon i noticed windows popup "windows update" with some text (CleanUp: KB967756 Rollback) or something like this...
So it seems to be installed successfully!
Even if i will use it using svcpack method it should be processed at the first logon from runonce.
Thanks again, i will test everythings soon as possible on virtual box and let you know!

After i made chanches to installer KB967756_Rollback_x64.exe by replasing A to N it works perfectly using SVCPACK method. Tested on virtual machine and also on my computer.
I may confirm again that the last update pack working perfectly!

One more Russian with WinXP x64 :-)
At the suggestion of (naggy) I installed addon. NET frameworks v2.0-3.0-3.5 for x64
Everything works fine.

Make action following items:

1. WinXP in the distribution has create a folder called $OEM$.
2. Inside the $OEM$ folder, create a new folder named NFW35SP.
3. extracted from the archive file NF3.5x64.exe, and copy to a folder NFW35SP.
4. At the root of the $OEM$ folder, create a text file CMDLINES.TXT.

The content CMDLINES.TXT:

[COMMANDS]
".\NFW35SP\NF3.5x64.exe"

If you use the key /S, the installation in silent mode:

[COMMANDS]
".\NFW35SP\NF3.5x64.exe /S"

12 minutes before the end of the install WinXP, will be started the installation NF3.5x64.

------------------------------------
Author addon (Lisabon) says that...

The assembly comprises:
Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 Service Pack 2 x64
Microsoft .NET Framework 3.0 Service Pack 2 x64
Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 x64

- No Russian Language Pack. When checking for Windows Update, Russian Language Pack will not be offered for installation
- After installation, the system does not restart
- Put all versions of Microsoft. NET Framework in version 2.0 SP2 for 3.5 SP1 immediately, without rebooting
--------------------------------------

If the moderator deems this post is useless, then please remove it.
Otherwise, requezt edit the post.

note:
machine translation, sorry.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Fixed bug - no quotation marks at the end of the command line.
Otherwise, the command is ignored.
".\NFW35SP\NF3.5x64.exe" (It is right !)
Because of my inexperience and inattention.
I'm sorry!

Thanks for the warning, Rick. I'll pull the files from SkyDrive by Tuesday and return to mirroring by request. I've had the associated Hotmail account since 2004-05-02. I don't want to lose it. Had my gmail for almost as long, 2004-08-29, when it was by invitation only. :)

happened to me, I have it blocked for 1 week, after I contacted them they advised me not to repeat it (including 15 GB of data present them) i was asked to remove only DirectX and PlayReadyPC, you would not believe not the UpdatePack or DotNet or other, I believe we have noticed that all the material was not about warez or was not published in any warez site ect ect, however after as a precaution I have removed all the files, even though I was not asked to remove them

I mean are not as aggressive if they see that everything is with good intentions

Ciao.

Very interesting. I was once warned by MediaFire when a small warez site was hotlinking my pack and addons. MS sent MediaFire a take-down notice and the warez site was taken down. Since then I make sure to disable my old links. Been thinking about making my stuff available through Bittorrent for a few years now. I may finally do that when Microsoft stops releasing updates for Win2003.

You can use mega.co.nz
It's fast, has no ads, high file size limits, and no problem with DMCA or MS (I host my update packs for Win7 there).
Alteration of the world
Want to thank me ? If you buy something on Banggood with this link, I will earn a little %.

Yea, I don't think it works like that. "I think" the laws of the country your IP address originates from apply. A US citizen is bound by US laws etc. I'm 99% sure here in Canada we're bound by Canadian Law no matter what file server we use. Just a thought.......... 8)
