could be a false positive, Im not taking the risk. Weve jast had a major outbreak of a similar malware at work which took alot of man hours to clear (kaspersky didnt even pick that one up until we submitted it).
Ive used onepeices addons for a while now with no issues, ive just downloaded his ie8 addon & that scans fine. Im just warning you all of what I found in this exe file. Its upto you guys if you take the risk or not.

Hey guys, made a new RegTweak that will add IE Icon on Desktop option to IE's Advanced Options

But I prefer the Folder Options one because this one does not refresh the desktop, you have to do it manually so the icon goes away

Code: Select all

Received the same two error messages during the blue screen stage with 1.3.0 and 1.3.1:
"Setup cannot copy the file: ieframe.dll.mui"
"Setup cannot copy the file: msfeedsbs.dll"
Edit: finally i figured out, that something went wrong either with the unpacking of the original XP CD, or with the integration. I repeated the procedure from the begining, and no errors anymore
The packs i used:
QFE updatepack 1.05
code65536's DirectX 2009march pack
OnePiece_IE8_WinXPSP3_v1.3.1
User_Hidden's Addon_Microsoft.Net_Family.35SP1_KB961118_ROE.7z
Java JRE 6 update 14 addon
7-zip addon.
The only notification i've received during installation was comong from the java addon ("Revocation information for the security certificate for this site is not available"), otherwise it works like charm:)

minor bugs found:
(from ie.inf)
each set has 2 entries that contain same value but different datas. The entries above are updated ones in cumlative security update but the entries below result in non-updated registry values.
so just removeing the entries below is ok.

When the page first loads, it says "Request Download TIcket" as usual, but then that disappears (within less than a second) and instead displays text saying that I should sign up for the site.

I wound up getting the file, though. I was just quick on the draw and clicked the "Request Download Ticket" link before it disappeared.

Are you sure you're using the correct version of the update, Raoul90? You must use the version for IE8, not the one for IE7 or IE6.
Hello,
I used the new addonmaker (for updatepacks also).
But now I get this error during install:

It cant find the specified file.
edit:
Think the problem is that I didnt make an .ini.
See here for info;

Duplicate TXTSETUP.sif entries
I too am having problems with this addon. I noticed that this addon causes duplicate entries in the txtsetup.sif. Some examples are ie4uinit.mui, ieframe.mui, sqmapi.dll, etc. This is normally not a problem if installing from a CD, but it becomes a problem when installing from a hard drive. During the install, WinSetup copies files from the temporary source directory to the \windows target directory and will delete files from the temp source during the install. With duplicate .sif entries, you will get errors from the install about files not being found since they were previously deleted. This does not seem to be the case during a CD install since WinSetup can still find the files on CD after the file has been deleted from the temp source.
Can this possibly be cleaned up?
I used the stable version of RVMi 1.6 to do the integration

I believe this fix wil also work for your problem:adric wrote:I too am having problems with this addon. I noticed that this addon causes duplicate entries in the txtsetup.sif. Integrate it after you integrated IE8!
Re: Duplicate TXTSETUP.sif entries
How do you integrate something after the target has been integrated without RVMi wanting to delete or overwite the destination directory with older files?Stefhan wrote:

Edit:
Never mind, I feel somewhat dumb right now. Make the destination the source and leave destination blank, update pack blank, entering only the new addon..

This is just one of the things why I don't like AVG, it reports way too many FALSE positives. <_<
IE8 cosmetic addon affecting XP install
I've spent several installs trying to track down an error that I am getting and it seems that "Onepiece Repair IE8 cosmetic problems addon" is causing my problem which is a pop-up display during the GUI stage of the install just before the XP Setup Wizard display appears. What happens is I get a Hardware Installation pop-up window that states the following:
The software you are installing for this hardware:
Battery
has not passed windows Logo testing to verify its compatibility with Windows XP
I installed (integrated with latest RVMi):
SP3 only - no error
SP3+QFEUpdatePack - no error
SP3+QFE+IE8+repair4USB - no error
SP3+QFE+IE8+cosmetic+repair4USB -ERROR
I can ignore the pop-up and let it install, but this is not the normal situation and I'm wondering what in this addon is causing setup to react this way. Thanks for any insight on this.

Maybe there's a syssetup patching issue in your case. Try this: decompress the addon, open Entries.ini file and remove these lines:
then 7-zip it again and retry

thanks.
In the past week Onepiece has been struck by a big family problem. He'll try to update his "production" as soon as possible.
In the meantime you can build the updated addon by yourself using the Universal Addon Creator (you find it here: http://www.ryanvm.net/forum/viewtopic.php?p=97019#97019) using the new/updated hotfix installers

Newbie nOOb question. What do I do with this code please. Do I have to make a *.ini file or *.inf addon to integrate this code. Also can this be made into a *.REG file to put this tweak into a running system.
Also please what is the "Folder Options" method ricktendo64 mentions at the bottom of this post.
Thanks Ralfo67
