If 2012 was a person, I’d sue him for pain and suffering and lost wages.

Lol Rick !

You remind me that 16/10 is better than 16/9, but if you want a big screen you must buy a LCD TV, an they all come in 16/9 ratio unfortunately  .

I have a 40 inch LCD TV (1920x1080) that I use with my PC : it's rather cool, and it cost me only 300€

Yea WTF, most/all screens nowadays (no matter how big) are setting the max to 1080...When they are capable of doing lots more

30" monitors do exist which display 2560x1600. My HP LP3065 is one, and others can be found online. Trouble is, they're all pretty expensive (around 1,200 USD new, 950 USD used). I use a 40" LCD TV as a second monitor at 1920x1080, but it's wall-mounted at the other end of the room where standard text is not quite readable from where I sit...

Got myself a 70" Ultra high definition flat screen for my birthday - wild card games today looked just great.

4K computer monitors are beginning to become available also, like the Asus PQ321Q - "31.5-Inch 4K UHD display (resolution: 3840x2160, 140ppi) - equaling 4X the resolution of Full HD 1080p". Already coming down a bit in price to USD $2,939.31 new, USD $2,345.59 used. I have seen reports of UHD TVs up to 98". I haven't seen either UHD monitors or TVs in 16/10, just 16/9.

Cheers and Regards

bphlpt you need to read this

Your new '4K' TV isn't true 4K

True. But then it really doesn't make any practical difference to me since I can't afford it anyway. :) However, we should be correct in our terminology, so thanks. I still like the idea of 16/10 aspect ratio when it comes to computer monitors, but then I can't afford a new one of those either. LOL

Cheers and Regards

The term 4K is more commercially appealing than "Ultra High Definition" or UHD, it sounds new, and because UHD resolution is 4X full HD, it easy to be confused.

The digital cinema "2K" is 2048x1080.
The digital cinema "4K" is 4096x2160.

As 2K, 4K will unlikely be a consumer resolution because of the aspect ratio (1.90).

If you are familiar with resolution and display ration, it is obvious that the new 16/9 resolution is 3840x2160.

The corresponding 16/10 resolution is 3840x2400

If you want 4096x2560 its is about 30.000 € without taxes for a 30 inches monitor  http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/738 ... e-monitor/
