Same here. Of course I will wait patiently. Lots going on right now for SP4. Seems GDrive has been taxed for downloads as it is blocking access at the moment.darkrats wrote:Hi harkaz.
I can see you're pretty busy with your main project,
but please remember those (maybe I'm the only one) who are interested in your "ported to XP" individual security updates.
While I wait, I'm playing around with my new Android tablet.
Nice, but I am having a heck of a time getting it to work with Windows XP.
Thanks!
Welcome to Windows XP Service Pack 4
Working on .NET Framework servicing right now. I will fix the .NET Framework 4.0 SetupCache folder and enable uninstallation of .NET Framework updates you install in the future.
I will also try to fix some glitches I mention in the Deployment Guide Videos about MCE upgrades and other installation scanarios.
EDIT: Give me some time to examine how updates are installed and apply some necessary changes.

@Outbreaker SP4 includes Rosebud v12 with its Office 2007 SP3 files. These supersede the update you mention. I have added a "Stubpath" string at the Web Folders Active Setup registry. This string contains a rundll32 command to execute rosebud MSI updates referenced in an INF file. First the Office 2007 RTM Rosebud installer is run, then the Office 2007 SP3 patch is executed.
NEWS: Collecting MSP files and preparing to add registry keys for the netfx35 MSI Database. I will add only the necessary MSPs that come with the .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 Family Update release. Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 install cache will not be available - probably it will be provided as a seperate download.

Updated Rosebub with office 2007 sp3 update applied, simply rename to webfldrs.msi and replace original. Tested and working

Yes. In Beta 3 build I had replaced the webfldrs.msi with another MSI found in rosebud 2007 RTM installer and this service wouldn't start. It's working with your MSI.
The last check you could do is to run a Microsoft Update check to see if Microsoft Office 2007 SP3 will popup (if you haven't done already).

Here's an update for the latest Google Chrome add-on for nlite.
41.6MB
v38.0.2125.104
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B14fsd ... sp=sharing
Be cool if its the latest by the time for the actual final build SP4, if this was also added to it to since idk about vista but 7 started having it preinstalled and since iexplorer has its problems for later webpages saying "plz use an updated browser to view this page" meaning above iexplorer v.8.0
And of course no plugins inside this add-on.
Heck, to me, I prefer to use Apple's Safari Browser.

I will not add any third-party apps or drivers to the SP4. SP4 is already big in size and, with the .NET Setup/MSI cache files, its size may exceed 950 megs.
As a matter of fact, I will add signed, modified INFs for the optional components to the "Patches" folder. These will force a different default installation state for their respective components.
For example, a modified netfx35.inf will force .Net fw 3.5 to be disabled by default, a modified netfx40.inf will force .net fw 4.0 to be installed by default, etc.

I thought it did, my Toshiba laptop i got a few years ago from best buy came with it with other preinstalled stuff, n my brothers pc came with it to with ASUS windows 8. I was just saying why add it anyway but i know it wasn't said in stone that it was or going to be anyway.Outbreaker wrote:Woot? Google Chrome (Spyware) comes preinstalled with windows 7? Even if it is or not going to be torrented, people would be seeding a big file like that for weeks.

Please make one that disables all .nets. I personally would like that.harkaz wrote:I will not add any third-party apps or drivers to the SP4. SP4 is already big in size and, with the .NET Setup/MSI cache files, its size may exceed 950 megs.

MSI Patch uninstallation will not be available for .NET Framework 2.0 because SP4 will not use the PatchCache folder - to free some disk space.

Just curious. When I run the setup, there's no option to choose what to install.
For example: I'd like to pass on installing .NET Framework 4.0 (until I need an application that demands it).
Was it designed to just install everything, or am I missing a step during the installation?
And, thanks for continuing to tweak SP4 (unofficial).
It must be both frustrating and enjoyable at the same time.

It be cool if you made small bundles (packages) with the updates individual of getting it all for us to do to add it to nlight of what we wanted and making the .exe small sp4 to be downloaded.
like 1 bundle could be just all the .NET Framework 1-4
the 2nd bundle could be just security patches
the 3rd bundle could be just security enhances
etc etc etc so we could download the individual ones for this that don't want some of the .NET versions and other than reasons to cause the exe being so big is due to .NET Framework through out the years those files are just getting bigger and bigger causing SP4 to be even bigger to download that could also have something else that can be implemented instead and some small features like right click program icon and select 'Open File Location' like windows 7 does.
I didn't think of this before and possibility to late anyway but making like 2 SP's, like SP4 and SP5 for windows xp. Like all of .Net Framework can just be SP4 and the rest of the stuff can come in SP5.
Like a separate package that these bundles can be downloaded and add it to nlite instead of All In One would really eventually be all in one anyway but of course in way that could cause more problems and issues by doing so.
with the bug fixes and microsoft updates with anything else without making it small as possible i bet the whole all in one SP would be near 1.50-3GB total including the Windows XP ISO.
but thats nor here nor there of where we are now. It might of been different but who knows.
Keep up the good work!

I haven't try this, but noticed that you have .NET 1.0 too, is there a reason why it should be TPC only?
If so does this keep multiple version .NET assemblies? a.k.a have all Ink SDK versions coexist together because some apps such TPC powertoys will ask particular Ink assembly version to works.

.NET FW 1.0 is superseded by .NET 1.1. Howewer, it is explicitly required for Tablet PC components to work.
Yes multiple assembly versions can coexist in the assembly cache.
UPDATE:
@darkrats You have to manually enable .NET Framework 4.0 after installing Windows XP SP4 from the Add/Remove components wizard.

Do not upgrade from previous SP builds using Windows XP SP4 integrated (slipstreamed) CD-ROM. You may face several issues with several out-of-date components that are not updated by design. I recommend using the SP4 live installer instead!
Also, DO NOT repair a Gold, SP1, SP2, SP3 Windows Install using SP4 integrated media!

Been wondering for a while...
I have multiple Windows in the same partition and Flash?.ocx file under %systemroot%\system32\macromed has ACL of Deny write attribute for everyone. Making it the only file left when deleting windows folder from other windows. Of course if the Windows is fine I could just use the uninstaller.
I need to clear the permission first before delete it. I wonder is this a security measure from Adobe or a trick?

@dammenetwork Can you be more specific about the error you got? Remember that you MUST slipstream SP4 in a running Windows XP system.

'technically' the base ideology of this entire forum is 'to be avoided' by the types of folks that write that "garbage" and it can be debated, and has been, that our general hotfix/update scheme is in "violation" of MS's EULA...
MS ships a "user guide" with all mice and keyboards, do we really want to give them the 'right' to SUE us if we use our mice and keyboard contrary to their guidelines?
we are not "hacking" Genuine Advantage, we're simply doing "unattended" 'all-in-one' installs...
MS provides LEGAL downloads of SP-slipstreamed installation media on "Digital River"...
I'm *all for* them provided UPDATED slipstreamed media *EACH AND EVERY* Patch Tuesday - but until they do, we have OUR way of creating our own FULLY updated media "each and every" Patch Tuesday...
Hy Harkaz,
I just download final version SP4, and then run 'AutoPatcher'.
I found there are still many 'security update' not yet included in SP4.
for example:
KB931906, KB923789, KB953155, KB957097, KB952069, KB972270, KB2536276, KB2564958, KB931125, KB2864063, KB2898715, KB2892075, KB2834904-v2, KB2893294, KB2909210 ...... and many more still need to update by AutoPatcher.
my question:
Are these 'security update' (KBxxxxxxx) already included & automatically installed in Final Service Pack 4 ?
or is it maybe AutoPatcher can not fully detect it?
