you should have integrated the latest non-cracked wga atlteast (393) instead of 389 :(, hope you can for the next version. what will happen if i integrate this pack and a hacked version of 393 cab or the non-hacked version of 393 cab?

As far as I know, version 389 is the last official release from Microsoft. Link me up to an official MS download if that's not the case.
what will happen if i integrate this pack and a hacked version of 393 cab or the non-hacked version of 393 cab?
Assuming the file names are the same, the addon will overwrite the update pack version.

Was the hacked version integrated? What is the hacked version of WGA anyways? Actually, I think it would have been the best idea to not integrate WGA at all

BTW: DOes this release include the DirectX 9.0c updates listed here:

The version included in my pack is NOT hacked in any way, nor will it ever be. The hacked version people are referring to is one that basically allows them to bypass the WGA process entirely. I really don't care if people want to do that on their own systems, but that's a grey area I have no plans of going into in my public releases.
BTW: DOes this release include the DirectX 9.0c updates listed here:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/deta ... laylang=en
I have yet to see any definitive proof that these updates are actually necessary for anybody but developers. If someone can link me up to a game demo or something which requires this update to be installed or else it will not run, I'll be happy to include it in future versions.

EDIT: And for the record, if http://www.ryanvm.net/msfn/updatepack.html doesn't make any mention of a certain file being included, it's probably not there ;). Nobody should have to ask "Does this pack include...?" questions since there's already a complete list right on my site of what it includes.

Actually NFSMW needs that patch from DirectX...

Check their forums at www.needforspeed.com where I an others complained about it...

Hi all,

Don't Hammer me please, i kbow this is NOT nLite site/post.

Here my problem:
When I integrate Ryan Updates 2.0.2a and Addons by Ryan VM_Integrator_1.0.5 to --> test VMWare Install OK

Each time, I used nLite1.0rc(1i, 2i, 3i, 4i and 5i) to integrate RVM updates -->test VMWare Install Fail

I decide to do w/o nLite. Infact I used nLite just for removing some Language, removing SFC and specially adding TWEAKS.

I know RVM SFC addon exsit.
Does exist Addons removing language?
Does exist Addons Tweaks? If NO, as they are just registers, how to build that addons?

TNX for any help

Hi, I have a question.
I integrated v. 2.0.1 and and then on a clean source 2.0.2 update packs from Ryan. I excluded with nLite almost all drivers. After first restart it gives an error with both versions: \system32\drivers\ntfs.sys is missing or corrupted. I searched through all my addons and the only ntfs.sys is in Ryan packs. Tell me pls what am I doing wrong or what is wrong.
Now I am downloading update pack 2.0.2a. I don`t know why, but I think the same error will appear.
Please help me.

Oh!!!!! I forgot to tell you that i integrated all my addons without any of Ryan`s pack and everything is OK.

Help please.

-EDIT-
Same error if i integrate with Ryan`s Integrator.
Same error with 2.2.0a pack

That needs to be taken up with the nLite Forum's users, not here...

I remember seeing people report issues with ntfs.sys being corrupt back when XP SP2 first came out. I forget what the solution was, but I'm sure a little Googling and searching around will provide you with an answer.

That being said, I'm inclined to agree that unless you can reproduce the issue minus nLite that you start there.

@malinduta, check the hash for your download, because if you get the same error when integrating with rvm integrator )btw what version of integrator are u using?) its most likely because you have a corrupted download, i have had windows spit out installs because of one or two files beeing either corrupted or missing and when getting down to the grits of the problem to solve it was as simple as right clicb updatecab.cab and check hash.

Problem solved:
Integrated Ryan`s pack and addons with Ryan`s integrator and removed components with nLite.

Hmm, in this post's edit you said you already tried it with Ryan's integrator and it still didn't work, and now it does? Looks like some fault from your side.

Btw, ALWAYS use Ryan's integrator since it will always be more uptodate as e.g. nLite.

Latest 3DMark 06 states in "Minimum System Recommendations" here:

http://www.futuremark.com/products/3dmark06/

"DirectX® 9.0c December 2005 or later"

I know it's not a proof but... Maybe I'll ask them by mail (or someone else) why they wrote that. They certainly did it for a reason.

My experience with the NFSMW demo is that I ran into the same problems I saw many people on their forums complaining about (the installer not detecting DX9.0c as installed). However, I was able to remedy it by using one of the workarounds provided on the forum (changing a value in install.cfg) to successfully install it.

I'll have to try out 3DMark06 at some point this weekend.

That's still not worked for me though, the only way I was able to get around it was to reinstall windows and then I had to update to the latest patch from DirectX before it would work. Of course the 1.3 patch also helped out some too..

well including those latest directX files is probably a good idea if it doesnt take up that much space in the main cab, or else someone just should create an add-on which adds the updated files...

It's not quite so easy. I've checked out the contents of the December redist. Granted, I'm not very expert when it comes to hotfixes and patches in addons, but I have some idea. Anyway, it looks like a nightmare to do. There are several .inf files, .cab files, etc and seperating out what is XP only and common across all operating systems will take some work.

I think the only relevant file is d3dx_26.dll or whatever it's called (I'm not on my home system right now, so I don't have any good way to check).

I was wondering what that was for. In my addon pack I have D3DX9_27.DLL, but that's because of Media Player Classic. I wonder if that's all that's needed to get some of these games running.

I had a quick look at it and it seems D3DX9_2X.DLL is the most important file
because it seems the others werent updated ... oh well just a quick look there might be others as well

Yeah, I see it too. I'll see what I can do. It very well could be an incompatibility between DK10 and MMC 3.0.

EDIT: For what it's worth, it appears that if you ignore the message, DK10 will work happily anyway.

It helps that I install DK10 on all my unattended installs anyway, so doing a quick check was easy enough :P

I'm going to do a vanilla XPSP2 install quick and install MMC 3.0 on it after the fact. That should tell us for certain whether the problem lies on my end or Diskeeper's end.

OK, I just confirmed that the same message occurs on a vanilla XPSP2 installation with MMC 3.0 installed on it after the fact. Looks like Diskeeper needs to be updated to properly recognize it.

That being said, I don't see any lost functionality since Diskeeper seems to function just fine if you tell it to ignore the error.

Hi guys

I found one problem hope its not update pack related??

If I open up computer management by right clicking My computer/Manage
there is nothing there only a blank explorer page?? Very straaange??

Maybe you guys could possibly shed some light on this, I haven't changed anything I do differently in making my disk?

I made the same using Boooggys update pack & didn't have that prob.
One other thing I noticed when using Boooggys pack after installation of os & running my ext drives etc, there was no hardware page popups bla bla & installed my devices without intervention with ryans I do??

Really hope its something here fellas, but could someone else check it out?

Everything else workin great & really fast with no updates req'd...

Cheers

MC.

I would consider the problem to be a Diskeeper problem, not MMC. I run PerfectDisk, Symantec System Center, and just about every Microsoft snapin I can think of and none of them have issues with MMC V3.0.

Furthermore, MMC V3.0 is required to run the R2 snapins.

All you have to do to remove something is delete the files and remove the corresponding entries in the .inf files right?

MRT is just MRT.exe (there's also a registry entry in RVMUpPck.inf for it). WGA is GWFSPidGen.dll and LegitCheckControl.dll.

And yes, removing the files and editing entries.ini should be sufficient.

The update packs generally are scheduled for release after each monthly round hotfixes from Microsoft. The next batch looks to be Feb 14. It's always the 2nd Tuesday in the month.

Ryan's packs are usually released by the following weekend thus I'd expect it around the 17th of Feburary or there abouts.

I put out new releases as soon after MS releases their monthly security updates as I can. Sometimes, it's immediately after (IIRC, 2.0.1 came out within a day of the patches being released). Other times, life has its way with me and the new release gets delayed until I have time for the next release (see 2.0.2). That being said, my Tuesdays this term aren't nearly as crazy as they were last term. As long as I don't slack too much on keeping things up to date between releases, I should be able to get the new release out fairly shortly after MS releases their patches.

And for the record, DX9 is already integrated on my end ;)
