I think this will be included in Ryans pack, with next release of course.

Maybe useful for people who want just Unlocker and not the other tools.

Unlocker context menu only show up on shortcuts in Start Menu. It won't show up on Windows Explorer files. Tried to reboot several times and register DLLs, but stll it won't work.

I'm using the latest Unlocker addon v1.7.3.

I've read the the V1.7.3 has some issues. Unfortunately I never did get 1.7.2 and already nuked 1.7.1. Maybe I'll extract the version that's in the RVMFullAddon Pack.

I'm using the latest Unlocker addon v1.7.3.
Unlocker gets installed with reg entries, the dll doesn`t need registereing.
It seems Unlocker has problems with the reg entries not sticking.

Unlocker.reg

Ok, I will.

Thanks.

Did you look in the registry before you imported the entries? Would be helpfull to know.
Also do you have these files in your System32 folder

Code: Select all

Unlocker.exe
UnlockerCOM.dll
UnlockerDriver4.sys
Last of all install unlocker from the origional installer, if that works i don`t know what`s going on.
Unlocker addon works for me and the only time it`s not there in the right click is on the first logon after a fresh instal, even then that doesn`t always happen and a logoff or reboot solves it works perfect from then on.

Let me know how you get on and try to provide as much info as possible.

I have checked the three files above, and they are there, but still it doesn't work. Anyway, i tried to install it as standalone, and it works. So, maybe i'll settle for this at the moment.

Thanks for your help anyway.

I`m glad it`s working for you now... but i would like to try and find out why for some it`s not fully working.

Did you try a re-install? If so did you get the same results?

If you did try a re-install and it didn`t fully install, can you try this one and report what happens?
UnOAddons_Unlocker_Test.cab

Ok, i'll try to redo my installation now, and will do as instructed if the result is the same.

Will keep you posted.

Thanks.

Does this install to the system32 folder? Thats been a petpeeve of mine. When installed to system32, you can't upgrade as new versions are released. Well, you can, but you leave behind old obsolete files.

# Change Log

Unlocker 1.7.8 - 21/01/2006

- New language: Slovenian thanks to Aleksander 'Quattro' Hropot
- Improved code: Unlocker is now much faster to list handles and to appear. Between 2x and 30x faster depending on the situation. Thanks to schwit for reporting the problem and testing my fixes
- Improved code: Rewrote part of the driver
- Fixed bug: Some processes and their handles were missing depending on their accessing rights, this is fixed now, and ZoneAlarm temporary files handles appear in Unlocker for example. Again thanks to schwit for reporting the problem and testing my fixes
- Fixed bug: If a cd or dvd was removed and a handle was existing, an annoying explorer dialog box would appear and the handle could not be listed
- Fixed bug: Miscellaneous buffers bugs
Quite the update for an increase of 0.01 in the version number. :P
