Hotfix Hunt for Windows XP SP2
I've also seen a few instances in previous TheHotfix packages where they had older versions of the hotfixes in their packages too. I suppose it could go the other way too. If you REALLY want to be thorough, extract them all and compare file versions

I agree Petr, have been leaving them on with new fixes but wasn`t aware of how to find out the version for the rest.
Nazgul, So if i understand right the second digit of the Revision on the KB is the version of the hotfix.
But, how do you determine what version the hotfix is? Because most of the KB articles list a lower version number than the actual files in the hotfix!

The knowledge base article version isn't a one-on-one mapping to the hotfix version.
In general Microsoft increased the major number on a hotfix change and the minor number on a textual change. But unfortunately i've seen a lot of deviations from this scheme.
I usually save a copy of the knowledge base article when I receive a hotfix. When the knowledge base article is updated I compare those 2 versions. The outcome of that comparison usually tells you if it's just a textual change or if it could be worthwile to contact Microsoft. (For instance, no changes in the article, but a version change)

Just display properties - version. I believe it is correct - it was correct for all hothixes I checked so far. For version displaying of more files it is possible to use getver utility from http://free.prohosting.com/~ladi/e_cmd32.html or filever utility from this MS http://support.microsoft.com/kb/913111Xable wrote:I agree Petr, have been leaving them on with new fixes but wasn`t aware of how to find out the version for the rest.

Sereby - it would be advantageous to you if you would actually try installing the hotfix with a system monitor to see what it does before asking questions. If you had done so, you'd see that it changes 3 regisry entries related to the Australian time zones.

No, do your own work. There's all kinds of registry change trackers out there, many of which have been linked to from this forum. Heck, if I remember correctly, there's a thread for it in General Discussion.
Being able to track registry changes is a skill you should have if you're making your own pack.

there is nothing! the setup uses only a costum dll file for update and the reg tweaks are the following:
