Kel, the addon is broken now because you have an undeclared string --> %UPDATES%. But ofcourse it works anyway to just copy over LgtCkCtl.dl_ from your pack. Please fix the inf, the reg entries won't install at all now.

(I know it really doesn't matter but just thought I should help out.)

Heres a fast update to fix Kels WGA 1.5.526 (Broken MD5: 3A8AD1DA70886C7AC6D1C3E4B0DA0EE1). Only added missing updates string nothing else changed.

This is a temp link. Will remove as soon as Kel updates!

Thanks for the addon and all other great addons, I've used previous versions of this a long time!

Some guy on another forum said he noticed a process called, "wgatray.exe"

There isn't such a file in this AddOn. So the WGA Tool was updated, but the DLL version is the same? (I'm referring to the Apr 25th update)

I'm confused. Currently installing XP on my VM with this update. I guess I'll find out if there's any problems.

wgatray.exe is part of WGA Notification (KB905474). Not sure if that update will replace WGA completely, but it looks like it. (Btw, there will also be OGA in the future... (yeah Office GA... :/).

New version of LegitCheckControl.dll 1.5.530.0 - I have replaced the old one 1.5.526 in newly installed Windows - works fine, seams it does not require any new registry entries. MU/WU does not try to download it.

Registry entries are only required to keep QFECheck, MU/WU and MSBA happy. Not for WGA to function.

Just overwrite the compressed LgtCkCtl.dl_ on your XPCD, just before you make your ISO.

Ummm.. i admit i am new to these things: i have my LegitCheckControl.dll 1.5.530 in my win\system32 folder (or i suppose to have, since i updated it through WU),
BUT
i don't have the .cab to integrate in a new .iso neither i am able to make a .cab pack

Are you suggesting me to drag and drop the new LegitCheckControl.dll into a previous .cab pack (ie. 1.5.526) and overwrite??

I just wanted to know if anyone else has made an updated pack for integration.

Rename LegitCheckControl.dll to LgtCkCtl.dll.
Compress LgtCkCtl.dll to LgtCkCtl.dl_ by executing the following line:

MAKECAB /D CompressionMemory=21 /D CompressionType=LZX LgtCkCtl.dll LgtCkCtl.dl_

Then replace $:\I386\LgtCkCtl.dl_ with the LgtCkCtl.dl_ you just created.

Now create your ISO and burn.

There is no need for an additional addon .cab if you use Ryan's Update Pack. Just overwriting the file will do.

sir what about the wga.in_ is this still needed... i found this on kels addon (Kels_WGA_addon_1.5.526_v1.1.cab)

Hello, it's me again.

I got a problem with this 1.5.530 addon pack:

i want to install my Win XP in a fully unattended way but even if i entered my key into WINNT.SIF it still pops up the window during the setup, asking for the licence key.

I had no problems with 1.5.526 addon pack.

Tested on VMWare.

Any suggestions?

I don't see where this has got anything todo with the WGA addon, but your key shouldn't be between quotes.

I always used quotes for my key string in old winnt.sif files and i didnt have any problem before...
so, i can't explain it to myself, too.

Well it shouldn't be between quotes, but I can't imagine that updated WGA addon has got anything to do with it, I recently did a reinstall with 1.5.530 while using WINNT.SIF and I didn't got that popup, so my guess is that something else changed or maybe you forgot to add WINNT.SIF before burning your ISO?

I don't want to sound "annoying", but i'm still convinced that there is a problem with this updated version.

I come to this conclusion from these evidences:

1- I tested v1.5.530 addon without quotes in my Winnt.sif licence key string and i got the same popup window during setup

2- I tested v1.5.526 addon with or without quotes in my Winnt.sif licence key string and i got NO popup window during setup

So, i mean there is a problem with the pack by hp38guser, not with the original LegitControl.dll
but, since i am a newbie in cab making/editing, i cannot check with my eyes what the problem is.

My only way for the moment is to integrate the old version (1.5.526) into my Windows .iso and then run a WUpdate when the operative system is installed.

@keytotime You can't integrate wga for firefox because firefox isn't installed! You have to create a cab that integrates both firefox and wga.

You will still need to authenticate, however, you wont need to download KB892130 because it's already installed ... a bit like going to WU or MU the 2nd, 3rd, 4th ..... time.

If MS change KB892130 in the future then it will need to downloaded it again.
