[BUG] Limitation in OLD_SYSOC

Post by orcoxp » Mon Jul 17, 2006 11:56 pm

Test Scneario

Code: Select all

Integrator v1.4
RVMUpdatePack2.1.0
DeleteAddon_FrontPageExt
DeleteAddon_wMessanger_v1.7

DeleteAddon_MSNExplorer-v1.8 <-- modified

Plus 70 other Addons...but they have been tested and function in a live environment
The modification in DeleteAddon_MSNExplorer-v1.8 is to remove the editting of SYSOC.INF from [ExtraFileEdits] and have it listed in [OLD_SYSOC].

Test #1...using [ExtraFileEdits]...works fine
Test #2...using [OLD_SYSOC]...failed
...............I noticed that the Delete packs that work had the [OLD_SYSOC] after [Obsolete_Files] and this time it was placed before it
Test #3...using [OLD_SYSOC] after [Obsolete_Files]...still failed

I even copied the lines out of a working pack to place them in the MSN Explorer one.

My Conclusion: [OLD_SYSOC] is limited to the first [COMPONENTS] section.

@RyanVM...can you add a small tweak in the next addon to correct this? Or...
@Siginet...can you add the ability to parse multiple sections of the same title?

I know of this... but I don't think I am gonna change it due to the fact it is one simple ExtraFileEdits entry to accomplish a simple task. I don't see much of a point in me changing the code for a simple task like that.
