Found this just thought I would share to you to ease up the hotfix hunt, or just help you in anyway.
Don't know if this was posted yet, too lazy to search.

Availability of Windows XP COM+ Hotfix Rollup Package 11
I did a quick search and didn't see this elsewhere, so here's a new KB hotfix:
KB897696 - Availability of Windows XP COM+ Hotfix Rollup Package 11
This KB supersedes KB896728, which was the Rollup Package 10.
Hope to see Update Pack 1.3.0 soon!

New KB - KB902845
KB902845 - The computer stops responding during text-mode Setup when you try to install Windows XP
Maybe you guys already know about this, but Microsoft has per-product RSS feeds for new KB articles now. I found this fix by the "Windows XP Professional" feed.

Okay, I've got the eight new updates from Microsoft and am working on getting the August addon pack together. I believe KB900930 shows up under optional, but it is already in the 1.3.0 pack. Hopefully, I can have this finished up soon.
In other news, good Lord Microsoft. Could you release any more freakin updates at once? Sorry, had to get that out.

I still show KB896727 on my list of Windows Updates. It looks like it replaces a lot of older KB articles. It includes the updates in KB330628, KB816506, KB871205, KB889960, KB890207, KB893371, KB891768, KB897169, KB899102, KB899284, KB899797, and KB899812. Hopefully they don't pull this one away. Well it looks like Microsoft has pulled the download for KB896727. I have the one from the Windows update. It drops the files in c:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download. It is inside one of those folders inside. I pulled my copy that I installed for my PC out of there.
You might check inside there. It won't be in hotfix update package form, but it is already extracted. I don't know if this is just me.

I'm testing my update pack right now. If you guys remember the posts by Ryan that the update pack slows down with the more cat files you have to run... I'm experiencing it first hand right now. It's not short either, it is like 15 minutes of waiting at T-39. It did make it out of it a little while ago, and I'm at T-18. When it finishes, I'll qfecheck it to make sure everything worked okay. The only problem is if it doesn't work right and I have to make changes, I have to start the install over again and wait an extra 15 minutes per test.
Hopefully, I'll be finished tonight, and be able to send it off to RyanVM for approval.
Edit: Well, I finished through and QFEcheck ran. There are 154 cat files and 4 show up as not installing. So 150 is the limit. And now I'm going to have to get into contact with Ryan and see what he wants to do. But my pack integrated and worked! Not bad for a first timer.

Hey leviathan, didn't KB 896727 replace the hotfixes you mentioned? So why we are still at 150 cat file limit?leviathan wrote: I still show KB896727 on my list of Windows Updates. That's what the Microsoft KB article says. If Ryan agrees, I'll comment out the lines in his pack and remove the .cat files for those fixes. I'm just a helper; I really don't have the authorization to make big changes to the 1.3.0 pack.

I don’t suppose if you have any Windows 2003 Updates that need to be requested from MS, that you could send them to me??
I finished the Windows 2003 1.2.0 update pack just haven’t posted it yet, just got one more test to run and as for KB896727, if you didn’t include the ActiveX Compatibility reg setting it WILL still show up on MS Update. I found that out when my Pack refused to apply ONE line in the pack meaning the ActiveX section wasn’t run properly
Your collaboration will be appreciated. PS I will be making my update pack compatible will all the other version of Windows 2003, it will be like RyanVM’s with the sub folders Home and Pro, but instead Standard, Advanced, Enterprise, Datacentre… Maybe Small Business Server but that’s different again, will have different updates!
----------Edit-------------
Just one more test run then hopefully will be finished.. found I had used [ instead of { on most of the ActiveX Reg settings no wounder why it was complaining

I've compiled a list of all posted KB articles since this post by RyanVM. I didn't check to see if they superseeded others (or each other), if somebody already requested them or if they weren't double-posted (although I did filter out a few which had a direct follow-up post which stated that they where toooooldkeytotime wrote:allright if somebody makes a post with all the kb numbers i'll start requesting.

I know some people here use kbalertz.com and kbfeed.net to find hotfixes other than those critical listed on Microsoft|Windows Update.
However, has anyone ever used Microsoft's own FTP server?
In DOS type in the following
ftp -A ftp.microsoft.com
You should then be connected and see the prompt
ftp>
Type cd misc/kb/en-us/
Type dir to get a directory listing
That or type dir < C:\FTP.log to save the output to a file
You are in the base directory and all directories are numbers with either two or three digits.
You can also use the Date and Time to see what is new|changed. Like the followingSo we can see there are updates however at the time of writing this I did not see any modified Aug 16. These were last modified Aug 15
892: 351.HTM, 519.HTM | 893: 246.HTM | 894: 315.HTM, 530.HTM, 383.HTM | 896: 989.HTM, 559.HTM, 717.HTM
899: 270.HTM, 856.HTM, 329.HTM | 904: 673.HTM, 677.HTM | 905: 703.HTM, 722.HTM
I thought all KB articles were six digits but there are those with five.
For example KB10022 will be in the 10 folder and will be 022.HTM
A six digit example KB867282 update will be in the 867 folder and will be 282.HTM
To get out of ftp type in bye
If you would like to know more FTP subcommands Look Here
By the way does anyone know how Microsoft orders KBArticleNumbers?
By this I mean are they ordered randomly, or is there some order?
Because this is all KB articles - I think - so a lot of things we don't need.
If anyone knows how Microsoft orders KBArticleNumbers then that would further reduce searching.
I don't know why it is only in english but you can then search for your language by changing what is in bold en-us
after you get the english KB-numbers. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/867282/en-us
