thanks ViVa , MrNxDmX ...
i'm not asking about the dates and time of the ntoskrnl.exe version
i'm asking about the advantage of the ntoskrnl.exe version:
version 5.1 (build 2600.xpsp.060411-1541 : Servce Pack 2)
does it have an advantage over the kb890859?
and what is the hotfix name that update ntoskrnl.exe version to the above date?
i hope i get a final answer, friends!

I'm sure moataz was talking about KB889816 which is correctly linked in my history post. It is currently a request-only fix.
However, I was able to dig up an active download link, but it's located on LaptopVideo2Go. Here's a link to the post containing the download link:

They currently only have the English version.

You'll have access to that hotfix if you become a member of Xable's forum. It can currently be found in the English Upload section.

Right,
And could I integrate this hotfix using nLite or can I directly replace files in my source manually?
I gather this isn't included in Ryan's pack because Microsoft do not consider it a critical update?
laze.

Always nice to see nothing special coming out on patch Tuesday besides a new MRT and an official release of an already-released fix
.
That being said, I have a hellaciously-busy week this week (big presentation Friday, job interview Thursday morning, dinner meeting Thursday night, etc...), so I probably won't even look at any of this stuff until the weekend.

I have lost track of the latest x86 kernels. My list will no longer be updated. Besides, I believe most people still using XP x86 have moved on to SP3 by now.
The patchwork PC I put together in August only has SP2 on it because it's so old. Six gigabytes total of hard drive space isn't much to work with, especially when Windows and dotNET seem to take up most of it. The installation was done in 2005, two months before I joined this forum.
