Hi Kels, i get an error when i try to install my windows with your new notepad2 replacement pack. I get it when setup tries to copy the file "msvcr70.dll" that you have removed. Maybe you haven't modified the .ini file...

Byezzz

hi kel! this might be a bit late to report (as it was already mentioned above) since i only created builds yesterday & during text copy mode, i got an error about: msvcr70.dll ... i looked into the ini file & saw that the file was not among those in the cab but reference to it exists ... what i did was to extract the contents & removed 2 entries about msvcr and repacked it (still naming thje addon the same way) ... please tell me if this was right? ;) thanks!

Great post, I have a question though.

Where is the notepad2.ini file stored after you integrate this update pack which replaces the original notepad?

Notepad2 1.x uses registry for settings instead of the ini file so I back up the registry and merge the settings after fresh Windows installation. Where would I place the notepad2.ini file?

Yannow I thought about it with this but she didn't use Code's modifications and I truly like his version.

hi kel! i know this is an old thread but i just got back to creating new builds after quite sometime & would like to get my hands back to slipstreaming my most used addons (this one included) ... would you by any chance update this utilizing ver 4.0.23 (official by flo) or the extended ver of notepad (by kai liu)? thanks in advance.

You could try the extended one by code65536 (although it's 4.0.22.5):

Thanks, Kelsenellenelvian.

Florian's v4r23 and 4r24 do not appear to introduce major changes. In my opinion, updating to Florian's version is not worth losing the code-folding functionality introduced by code65536 at this time.

However, if somebody knowledgeable were to recompile Florian's latest version with code65536's patch then I'd be interested. Unfortunately that person is not me; I don't know enough about C to try.
