  • how this upgrades XP's version besides file versions, I'm not sure,.. for any one who thinks this might be good to try on XP ! here goes ..

note: the file replacements aren't cataloged for xp so these files are treated as none MS signed files for xp.
enjoy

This seems to work just fine for me. I'm not sure what the differences are between this and the stock, but I suppose it doesn't hurt to have a newer version.

btw, anybody know if Movie Maker was updated with Vista SP1 ?

Well, this does not work at all for me. I extracted addon and replaced all files. MovieMaker starts fine, but a lot of features does not work. Examples: Preview does not work, it's impossible to save movie (not project). Did you guys tested any features or you just try to run it?

Cheers ;)

Personally, I just ran the thing. I don't use Move Maker myself, but use other products.

mara-, it does not run with the way you use. I dont know if some regsvr commands must done or not, but it works flawless if you use it as an addon. I could edit a movie with success.

Me too dont use movie maker but its nice to see an updated one on my system :P

but mara said he replaced all files, so i think he might not need to register any files.

@ roguespear,
vista sp1 doesn't include it. it's like what it used to be --- take version in vista build style

also i tried installing this updating on my os, only getting a message box stating "no applicable hardware detected". with installation failing

Just a heads-up. This addon does not work if you have already removed Movie Maker with nLite.

yeah, it only replaces the files with updated version, no modify on inf/ini/reg/etc.

for confirmation I asked rick the same ... though he cant quiet remember. he thinks he got them tracked from the setup ...

when I decided to add them here, I was thinking I didn't use or use vista to possibly have tracked the reg settings myself, I only owe it to the addon if it needed the settings in place. so I went along and got those added ..

This addon has an odd result for me. If I integrate using RVM_Integrator_1.5.3 with only RVMUpdatePackSP3_1.0.2.7z and this addon, I get a file at the root of my CD directory (ie at the same level as i386) called moviemk.inf with all of the [MediaPadReg] from this addon in it. I then check the moviemk.in_ file in the i386 directory, and it seems unaltered.

Is this a bug with the Integrator or this addon (or me some how)?

Thanks.
