I was beginning to suspect something similar (although not that deep into diagnosis) because I thought that update worked until I added a few more addons recently, but wasnt sure. Havent had time to test. Anyway, here is the addons I am using:
amires_KB940157_RunOnce_Addon.7z
amires_silverlight_1.0.30716.0_T13_Addon.7z
The above 2 I added when I believe this siuation started occuring, along with updating to a new version of the addons with * below:
DotNetFx_All_In_1_Addon_v2.2.7z
OnePiece_IE7_WinXPSP3_v2.3.0_AddOn_ENU.7z
OnePiece_Windows_Defender_RunOnceEX_AddOn.7z*
OnePiece_Windows_Media_Player_11_True_AddOn_v1.2.0_ENU.7z*

Thanks for all the work. I just integrated sp3 updates with Integrator 1.5.4 beta 6 and it works fine on Virtualbox.

spcustom.dll = 100,,,,,,,250,0,0,spcustom.dll.ref
spmsg.dll = 100,,,,,,,250,0,0,spmsg.dll.ref
spuninst.exe = 100,,,,,,,250,0,0,spuninst.exe.ref

so is there a file named spupdsvc.exe in \i386 (or spupdsvc.ex_)?
if not copy spupdsvc.exe from Ryan's pack.
then add
spupdsvc.exe = 100,,,,,,,250,0,0,spupdsvc.exe.ref
to the line right under spuninst.exe = 100,,,,,,,250,0,0,spuninst.exe.ref in txtsetup.sif
and add
d1,spupdsvc.exe under d1,spuninst.exe in dosnet.inf

In this latest update pack for SP3, I am finding that nlite crashes every time it tries to process the update pack. Yes, I realize it is nlite that I am talking about. I have looked on the nlite forums and are unable to find any information about the crashing with this update pack. Nlite crashes with both 1.4.9 *and* 1.4.9.1.
I will try to get further information on the nlite forum, however I thought I should bring it to Ryan's attention with the current problem. I will also try further testing, possibly even working the update pack through the Integrator.

If it helps any, I think I solved the riddle to my nlite acting unstable. Although I allowed nlite to act as a "trusted" application, it appears the only item that changed from previous nlite sessions and the current ones were using a different firewall. I had recently began using COMODO Firewall Pro. It is a wonderful *free* program all in itself, however I had some options set that limit some of what nlite tries to do. The option "Defense+ Security Level" set to 'Clean PC Mode' or above appears to have intefered with the nlite process at different stages. To work around the problem, setting the "Defense+ Security Level" to 'Training Mode' appears to have solved the problem at this time.
I suppose I should have realized sooner that COMODO was "acting hostile" to nlite. It is now behaving much nicer in that I know what was causing the problem.

I am currently looking for a better free personal firewall, because I really don't like how comodo interferes with some things without being able to easily get around the interference... it used to routinely screw up wmp11 integrations and nlite integrations for me... very sucky!crashfly wrote:I suppose I should have realized sooner that COMODO was "acting hostile" to nlite. Your sp3 package, is it without internet explorer 7? I hope so
EDIT: I saw here (http://www.ryanvm.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6650) that IE7 wasn't included but I want to be certain.
I've tried SP3 with nLite and it crashes. nLite is version 1.4.9 and ryanvm SP3 is version 1.0.1

Have you tried the old yet still useable programs like Sygate Personal Firewall or Kerio Firewall 2.1.5?
Or even try the earlier Comodo (2.4) available at the bottom of Comodo's download page?
You might also try Online Armor Free.
They just released version 3.0 which I use on several machines.

We are one, but we are not the same... Talk to each other!
@Kingskawn - No, IE7 isn't included in the pack.
@All - Been a busy week. I hope to get the packs updated this weekend.

@Happy-dude - Things have slipped to the point where it's kinda pointless doing a release before the next patch Tuesday. I've got the packs up-to-date locally, so hopefully I'll be able to get them up quickly on the 11th or 12th.

two 'all-in-one' IBM x40 19" LCD/computer combo units. P4/2.8 mz, 2 gb ram. ATI rageXL graphics drives the (really beautiful) integrated 19" LCD at 1200x1024x32.
Because thexe X40s run cool, quiet, and are completly self-contined, they make almost-perfect 'stations' to scatter around the house. Plenty good enough for OpenOffice and Opera.
I bought the two units for $300- each three years ago from a refurb/salvage place in Texas. The original 40Gb IBM Deskstar (DeathStar) drives were mfgd in 2000. I'm surprised the drives lasted as long as they did.
And now we return this thread hijack to Ryans control.............

403 Forbidden suggests that yes, the links are working. Are you using a download manager or firewall that's stripping the referrer?cybpsych wrote:hi ryan, are the download links working?
I've tried all 5 links and got the "403 Forbidden error" message.
As for torrent, my ISP throttle P2P downloads, therefore it's not practical to spend 1hour+ downloading this pack alone.
