[Release] Dependency Walker 2.2 -->2006/12/23<--

Post by Kelsenellenelvian » Mon Jan 23, 2006 12:36 am

Dependency Walker is a free utility that scans any 32-bit or 64-bit Windows module (exe, dll, ocx, sys, etc.) and builds a hierarchical tree diagram of all dependent modules. For each module found, it lists all the functions that are exported by that module, and which of those functions are actually being called by other modules. Another view displays the minimum set of required files, along with detailed information about each file including a full path to the file, base address, version numbers, machine type, debug information, and more.

Cool bananas! This is an excellent utility for identifying runtime dependencies. I use it regularly for building my portable freeware collection :)

tO Kelsenellenelvian offtopic Sorry,Greetings! I really love Ryans VM and I really need your help ,regarding my installations. This is my problem...I have a new Genuine OEM Xp home without Sp2, I Integrate Ryans VM Newest version, the updates, add-ons and with sp2 integrations. After that I made it bootable tru EASYBOOT. During the SETup / Booting ...MY screen says...TO AVOID DAMAGE TO YOUR COMPUTER INSTALLATION WILL STOP!...What will I do? I did an integration before on my non-genuine xp corp with Sp2 and it worked perfectly, But now on this new OEM genuine xp home without SP2, It does not work. Really appreciate if you can help me . Again thanks you very much.

The link is 404.

I know this one is ancient, but I am systematically updating all addons I'm using and I just found that I'm still using DepWalker v2.1 for some reason.

Did the file move somewhere? Offline for maintenance? Or discontinued?

Thanks.

Sorry, I would've posted this sooner, but I didn't notice the thread until now.

Dependency walker v2.2.6001, built on 18 Jan 2008:
http://rapidshare.com/files/189029610/d ... .0.6001.7z
Edit: Oops, I misnamed the file. Should be 2.2.6001, not 6.0.6001

The version at the Dependency Walker website is the 6000 version from 2006. I don't remember where I found this version; I think it was in the SDK or maybe the DDK. I also have the x86-64 and IA-64 versions.
My addons: CmdOpen - HashCheck - Notepad2 - MS Runtimes - DirectX

In case anyone is curious, 2.2.7000:
http://rapidshare.com/files/193180690/d ... 00-x86.rar

Not really worth getting if you already have 6001; doesn't look like much has changed except for the compiler version (built w/ v15 like all other nt6.1 components instead of the v14 used to build nt6.0). Certainly nothing like the internal reorganization that happened between 2.2.6000 and 2.2.6001. And there will be a newer 7777 version anyway when nt6.1 ships...

do you mean it is true that final win7 will have a version number of 7777?

Only Microsoft would know if those rumors are true. But given their past behavior with playing games with build numbers of consumer operating systems to get either round numbers of cute numbers (W95 = 4.0.950, W98-1 = 4.10.1998, W98-2 = 4.10.2222, WMe = 4.90.3000, WXP = 5.1.2600 (wonder if that was a shout out to the hacker community), NT6.0 = 6.0.6000), I would be shocked if they didn't try to be cute with the build number (especially since they already gave the beta a cute number--they normally don't do this until RTM!). Even if there weren't rumors about it being 7777, I would have expected them to either use either 7000 or 7777, and with 7000 already used for the beta...

(I guess another way they could play the cute version game is 7xxx = w7 beta, rc, etc. 7700 = rtm, 7770 = sp1, 7777 = sp2, but they normally don't plan ahead like that, so 7777 for rtm sounds more likely.)

(Note that MS historically does not do this for non-consumer releases, like any version of NT prior to 5.1 and also NT5.2.)

(And sorry Kel for the off-topic response.)

(And for the excessive use of (parentheses (in (this (post)))).
