I'm getting the same thing and the IE7 addon I'm using does have it integrated. See my post here for more details.roadrunner650 wrote:I just did a VM install w/ this new pack(12-03) and kb960714 still appears in MU.
Edit: Never mind. Stupid operator error.

You can't say!!!
You didn't post the filelist? Check the versions, if it doesn't start with "9." (WMP 9) then there's nothing I can do about it, the update pack only updates WMP 9 and however you slipstream a newer WMP you have to reinstall/reintegrate KB952069.
I do see a typo on mine.. but Windows Update doesn't scan the registry in this case so those are irrelevant.

Hi, Redxii
Yes, I integrated with WMP10 hot pack.
I try to integrated the KB952069 directly, it succeed! Never in Windows Update.

"Advanced INF Install
Error creating process <Fontreg.exe /Q>. The system cannot find the file specified."

'Cause it adds to the size of the update pack. No one else is including it, only two registry entries are necessary to hide it until the next version. Last Patch Tuesday it actually required mrt.exe to be present, it no longer does that now, that was something they did on their end. If it requires mrt.exe again then I probably won't be rushing to add it.
Also, my upload sucks (512) and I only get half that to rapidshare.

Updated, added a couple of minor ones. If you have this problem, then try RVM Integrator beta8: http://www.ryanvm.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6968
on a fresh install, Microsoft Update wants me to get KB931906, a CAPICOM security update of 2007
do you deliberately omited this one? (it's not in RyanVM's pack too)
and should I install it?
btw, MU also wants me to get KB951376, this one is of June 2008. I think it's because I removed infrared and bluetooth support with nLite. am I right? and... is it better to install this hotfix or not?

CAPICOM update is probably a result of having Office installed. You should probably install it since it's a vulnerable ActiveX control.
Windows Update checks for presence of C:\Windows\System32\drivers\bthport.sys, if it is missing or removed then it will offer KB951376, this is without regard to whether or not your configuration actually has any bluetooth devices.

Update Pack Objectives
@redxii
Is there a post somewhere in which the differences between the update packs from Ryan and you are delineated? The "Announcement" post has not been updated to reflect the existence of your pack (nor OnePiece's for that matter). This leaves some doubt as to what the differences really are....other than going through the entire list of what's included in each pack and then comparing them.
This is as much of a question of the differing philosophies and objectives as it is a question of the specific items included/excluded from each pack.
As always - Thank you for your work and your sharing !!!

RyanVM includes QFE and GDR (QFE branches contain GDR, so that's slightly redundant) updates, along with a few optional updates.
redxii includes GDR only, and picks and chooses some optional updates.
OnePiece includes anything and everything he can get his hands on (I'm kidding, but I know he's far more liberal than redxii and RyanVM).
