Post by UtCollector » Wed Apr 15, 2009 9:09 pm

Here is 7zCompress V1.0.0.0 (Send To Style)

I first found this vbs script on www.doitrightconsulting.net Its made by RogueSpear.
The default switch options in the .ini file are those laid out by code65536
I tested zippig files with winrar on best compression and 7zip with best compression from GUI. Well a lot of
times i got a greater compression with RogueSpear vbs script. His tool called 7zCompress V1.0.0.0

Install 7zip to ore this addon wont work

Features:

Hey Ut for non English use it would be better to use %ProgramFiles% instead of %systemDrive%\Program Files to be universal ;)

I am not entirely sure, but I do not think this is compatible with x86-64. Does not seem to work as set up. I think I set it up correctly, however it appears to do nothing.

I will test further to see if I can resolve the issue I am having. (Might have to use a x64 bit compatible exe for it.)

BTW if ProfileItems will not create a shortcut for a vbs file there is a trick to get it working, the secret is IconPath and IconIndex....you need to specify a icon this way it will not fail

Code: Select all

[7zCompress.AddSendTo]
Name      =7zCompress,0x8,9
CmdLine   =16422,7zCompress,7zCompress.vbs
WorkingDir=16422,7zCompress
IconPath  =11,,wscript.exe
IconIndex =2

I always writes *.cmd files and save them in windows\system32\. Also I copies several cmdline-tools there, such as 7z.exe, cabarc.exe, reg2inf.exe, etc. When in need I just open a cmd prompt using cmdopen then type certain commands.

Currently I am satisfied with 7zit.cmd and cabit.cmd i created.
the 7zit.cmd compress the current dir(in cmd prompt) into a 7z archive(you specific the path).
the cabit.cmd compress a file or files in a list or all files in current dir to *.xx_.

Indeed you will need a x64 file.
Just go to the 7zip web site and get the x64 bit installer. Install and get the 7z.exe from the install dir. Raname to 7za.exe. Than rebuild addon. Well let me know :wink:

Hi,

I integrated this pack into XP with nlite and without errors during the integration.

After the XP installation, I right click on a file and send to 7Zcompress, then I get an error. And the icon of 7Zcompress lost.

I Think that for some reason the 7za.exe is not been installed in you're system32 directory. That the reason to the shortcut disapeerd.

Could you check if the 7za.exe is in you're system32 dir?

You could try to unzip the addon and manually install it.
If you use $OEM$ folder you could put the 7za.exe file in $OEM$\$$\System32

Could you check if you got the folowing directory?:
%ProgramFiles%\7zCompress\7zCompress.vbs

The directory should have this 2 files:
7zCompress.vbs
7zCompress.ini

Hi,

See the picture
And based on my tests, if the file or the folder name is Chinese, I can't send it to 7Zcompress, no response after I click send to.
