Post by ksec » Mon Mar 14, 2005 6:29 pm

i think Adobe Reader 7.01 is out as well.......
This update provides improved security and support for hyperlinks to PDF files in Microsoft Office documents. It also addresses known issues associated with form workflows and 2D barcodes. This update also addresses issues associated with viewing PDF files that contain 3D content generated in 3D CAD or modeling programs.
Edit: cant find the single installer.... only update is avalible .....

Just like the 6.0.3 update, Adobe had to do things in an incredibly stupid manner. As a result, making a 7.0.1 installer is going to be a bit of a bitch. I'm up to the task, though :D

They have this convoluted system where the files included in the MSI archive are in a proprietary archive format that the MSI then extracts at runtime. What I'm either going to do is use InCtrl5 to examine the changed files after installation or I think I may be able to actually figure out the switches used by the MSI to extract the files, so I can extract them that way. I know I've been able to figure out post-installation switches used by other MSIs in the past, so it should be doable.

Perhaps the before/after manual snaphot method in AdminStudio would work as starting point. I'll have to try it out tommorow.
