[Release] Acrobat 7.0.7 Reader

Post by heathy » Wed Mar 15, 2006 1:23 pm

Since there's some interest in Acrobat I have released two packs.

First pack is the full acrobat install as it installs by Adobe. The reason for the large size(52MB) is because of the data1.cab file that the installer creates so you can do a "Repair" of Acrobat.

The second pack is a modified pack. I've added registry entries to remove the "repair" option in Acrobat, so you can only remove the Application. Since removal no longer requires the data1.cab it makes the size of the addon about 27megs.

I'm by no means an expert at making addons. I have tested both packs and they appear to work. If you run into any bugs let me know.

If no bugs come up I'll PM ryan and have him host for me.

not to complain or anything...

not to complain or anything but the smaller package creates a bogus set of folders under %programfiles% called \Application Data\Adobe\something\something. This is NOT under %allusersprofile% like it should be... Otherwise, goodwork everybody and thanks for the plugins :-/

Since this hasn't been fixed yet, I found the source of the problem reported by anysttupidassname.
  1. Extract your Cab for the addon.
  2. Open areader.inf.
  3. Search for "appdata".
  4. Change it to read:

    Code: Select all

    prog43.main =16419,"%appdata%"
  5. Search again for "appdata".
  6. Change it to read:

    Code: Select all

    appdata ="Adobe\Acrobat\7.0\Replicate\Security"
  7. Save the inf.
  8. Repack your Cab.

Thanks for this add-on, but I have trouble to download it. Whenever I try to download any of the links, I get this message:

Forbidden
You don't have permission to access /heathy/acrobatsmall-addon.cab on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

any idea!?

Thanks in advance

dont copy paste link to ur download program. right click, choose "download with ....". its a referrer issue, that is known. you can use "save target as" too. i use flashget, and check its referrer as "http://www.ryanvm.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=.............."

I can't seem to repack the adobe 7 correctly after I edit it with the bug you guys found....

I use Winrar but the .Cab file I made just doesn't look like the one I originaly downloaded ....

Is there another .cab repacker or does anyone have the link to the already patched version of the adobe lite??

The 7.0.8 was out, maybe you want update it.
BTW, I use the pro version, so I can't employ this, whereas also thanks for your post.
The pro version maybe can add to XP CD likewise, but it’s a hard work, maybe the normal way is simple.
Headaching…
