I don't think this one needs any introduction by me.

I didn't add any file type associations for this in case you have other media players installed, but I did add reg entries for right click open menu for CD and DVD drive cos I use this to play ordinary DVD's on my PC.

Update: I just rebuilt this thing entirely from scratch with an uninstaller that prompts to delete user data. As with my original build, this will not make itself the default player for any multimedia file-types but this time I built the pack from the installer version (instead of the portable source version) and enabled Enqueue shell menus, autoplay handlers for media drives and the actice-x and mozilla plugins.

This rebuild was a nightmare which I probably will not feel in a hurry to update any time in at least the next six months if VideoLAN decide to release a new version (it's gonna take at least that long for my brain to recover ACKKKK). With 400 files, 104 folders and nearly 500 lines of reg code (god those active-x plugins are registry polluting son's of bitches grrrrrrrrrrr) I think you will understand why.

All I can say is THANK GAWD for regshot, reg2inf and reg file merger!!!

Yeh, tell me about it! I have never ever found good performance with any of the commerical DVD playing software I have tried over the years. They are all just bloated resource-hungry registry-polluting piles of crap.

VLC is the exact opposite and did I happen to mention how much I looooooooooooove open source hehehe

thanks Mrs Peel, this really is one great little player. i've got a movie file that only reached 95% and this little app gets me through it... amazing.

Ay caramba! In a moment of madness this afternoon I decided to resurrect this old VLC addon and rebuild it from scratch with an uninstaller.

They sure have added a LOT of stuff to it since the last time I had a moment of madness to rebuild the thing as a proper addon (and dump my original lazy switchless installer version) and their file name lengths and directory structure is INSANE.

But anyhoo, I needed this for my new OS build, but be warned that I will not be wanting to update this freaking monster any time in the next........ ermmmmmmmm...... well not any time again this year at least.....

So enjoy it while the version is still current

the next stable, waited long version appeared: vlc-0.8.6d. If you plan to update the addons, could you add the support for the different language version?
